My 3 day test drive of the Vauxhall Ampera. Known as the Opel Ampera in Europe and Chevrolet Volt or Chevy Volt in the US.

Today i had a test drive with the ampera. It was awesome. Great electric car. I will buy it and still waiting for the Tesla Model 3

Perfect car, in so many ways, electric for around town/city, and range extender for motorways. Electric cars eat electric when on motorways, hence why the petrol generator, makes more sense..

Used prices for the amperas are really good, it's worth buying now, as prices will go up in time, due to there efficiency, and they drive amazing

So not compatible with most network chargers??? So is it compatibe with any chargers, apart from home chargers ?

Servicing costs are INSANE. Can only be serviced by select dealers and they have you by the short and curlies. They sure know how to charge,

Can you tell us why you went for the Leaf?

You can't register it as a taxi as it only sits 3 passengers, it wont rapid charge in 30 mins like the leaf and it hardly achieves more than 40 odd mpg when the battery is flat.

***** No, I think it would be even less doing that. I set the cruise control to 70mph when I took the car for a long drive down to Manchester and it was then that it gave an estimate of 40mpg.

Clifford Rutley Cheers guys. 40mpg would be a step up from my Mitsubishi FTO at an average 32mpg.

Its fine. A recent court case confirmed that social media videos can not be used as evidence in speeding convictions due to the unreliability of footage that can be edited and doctored in various ways. Only official police and safety camera footage can be used.
