I had the lock out and gave everything a soaking in WD-40, also GT 85 and lithium grease with added PTFE. I physically moved the yellow piece many times and cycled the lock many many times when back on the car. Sometimes things are just broke and I wasn't so lucky. I gave it my best shot, thanks for the advice 👍

Temporary fix maybe but you would have to get out if you had passengers in the rear. Also I was selling the car so had to fix the issue. It's all to do with safety because the doors open backwards, putting child locks on eliminates the danger.

I took my old faulty door lock apart as I bought a new one and was curious to see what was wrong. Nothing was seized or had any water ingress, it was an actual faulty micro switch which you cant replace.

Those backwards doors cause more trouble than they are worth.

Removing the door card is not too bad, changing the lock can be difficult.

Had the same problem about 3-4 years ago and tried all the remedies that were going about on the net but ended up giving in and buying one of ebay which is considerably cheaper than anywhere else but the constant bleeping and the doors where repeatedly locking and unlocking absolutely drove me up the wall, but you just need to be patient when removing the door card and lock because the relief after completing the job is blissful 😊

RAC hadn't a clue, independent vauxhall specialist hadn't a clue, vauxhall themselves also hadn't a clue as it wouldn't read anything from the car to the computer. Old fashioned mechanics and a £28 header tank from euros and its right as rain now after spending 3 months as a garden ornament. That's precisely why I drive an old 70s dodge truck. Reliable. Easy to work on. Can fit 2 harleys on the back. Parts are surprisingly cheap and readily available, and there's nothing electric to go wrong. Added bonus of no tax or mot to worry about and sub 200 insurance. Unfortunately, the massive carbureted V8 big block completely wipes out those savings with 7 miles to the gallon on super with a strong tail wind 😭

Holley carb, edelbrock intakes and clay Smith race cams channelled through some hooker long tube headers with twin shorty side exits, no baffles. Mated that to a 727 torqueflite 3 speed. Eats a lot of modern performance cars for breakfast until we get to a corner 🤣💩 Dyno'd at 553 bhp at the wheels and 636 ft/lb torque on race fuel so she's a handful alright!

​@@baconbutttiesit's crazy, I also noticed when sourcing parts it comes back with insignia. So I have a feeling the shell is unique, but it has been slapped together with insignia parts. I was told in the past both Ford and Vauxhall computers tend to degrade and once they go it's game over. There rear lock issue is a really common one too.

I was lucky enough to have the vaux com software to pinpoint which lock. On the plus side you should have no trouble with locks for a long time. Hope the video did help 👍

@@baconbuttties Hi I've replaced both rear locks and central locking still keeps clunking and clicking and the annoying bong bong still happens untill I put child locks on also still have red door light on dash, any ideas.😮

@@gazzauk6851 could be a few things. Is the car still recognising the old fault code? Could it be a wiring fault somewhere? Have you tried maybe leaving battery of for 15 minutes if you haven't got a obd11 fault reader. It's worth having a code check if you can't get to the bottom of it. The front doors also have switches but I don't know if they will activate the alarm.

@@baconbuttties Hi update is I took the new locks off and put old ones back on then looked up fuse diagram and the rear left has it's own fuse and lo and behold a blown fuse ,changed it and it blew again so I presumed old lock was doing it so replaced with new lock again! and then changed fuse. It now works thank goodness, although the front passenger door intermittently doesn't want to open from outside but I can cope with that lol Thanks for the vids and I am now a professional at changing the locks on a meriva...😁

You can't turn off auto lock because the doors open backwards. Imagine if the rear doors were opened at speed 😯

In the comments there is someone called gazza uk and he put a new lock on and it didn't work, he later said the problem was the old lock had blown a certain fuse? probably not your problem but worth a try.

@@baconbuttties in my case the auto lock motor that i replaced was turning in the opposite direction i just had to switch two wires at the lock connector

I haven't got a solution to turn off the locking function 😕 It's there for safety reasons because the rear doors open backwards.

@@chrispeacocks836 no I haven't had a chance to have a play around with it on a scanner capable of changing factory settings I had PP2000 for Peugeot that gave full access to change settings so I think with the right tool it should be easy I've just had 1 problem after another with mine the buttons fell out of both keys the door lock is seeded so I don't leave anything valuable in it and just leave it unlocked 🤞 someone will steal it because I've had it for about 1 year it's the top speck 1.7 cdti the DMF and clutch needed changing parts alone £1200 after a lot of research and bidding on eBay I got it all for £500 I work in a garage and took a unpaid day to do it 9h of 🤬 it's had wishbones the driveshafts fell apart when removing them and I've had to get the RAC out twice and let me down at least 5 more times because it was burning out the plug on the fuel pump 1 £80 pump and 2 new plugs later I found out that switching it to a 1.3cdti one should solve it £40🤞 it's been ok so far but I hate it what where they thinking with the doors it just doesn't work in a car park and the middle seat in the back is useless

It is either 3 or 4 sensor micro switches in the locks and sometimes it can just be a sticky micro switch or it may be the contacts inside the micro switch have become contaminated or corroded. I'm glad you method has solved it as it a pain to remove and replace. 👍

You said "reduces" but I wanna turn it off at all. I wonder if Vauxcom or similar device can do it? I got only basic OBD 2 scanner which reads codes but nothing more.

@@rejtan2104 I think it will be difficult to turn off as it's a safety feature. This is built into the cars ECU so no one can open the doors while driving. The safety feature has to be there because the doors open backwards.

Got it. So maybe there's a small speaker somewhere inside the dashboard which makes this annoying sound and maybe there's a chance to remove it phisically? How do you think?

Are you just getting the light coming on? If the child locks are on it won't beep and you will just get the light and the locks will open and close more than usual.

I haven't had the steering problem but there is a company that refurbishes the hydro electric pumps. The Meriva B has had no more faults than any other car I have owned and find them to be reliable if looked after 👍

Zrobiłem drugi film o tym problemie. Musiałem wymienić cały zamek tylnych drzwi. Miałem czytnik obd2, więc mogłem stwierdzić, który zamek jest uszkodzony.

A mam jeszcze jedno pytanie ale związane z moją Meriva B 1.7 CDTI wyświetla błąd P067A, świeca żarowa 4 cylinder, błąd pokazuje się tylko powyżej temperatury zewnętrznej +8 stopni Celsjusza, poniżej tej temperatury błąd nie występuje i tylko przy pierwszym uruchomieniu silnika rano, potem przez cały dzień brak błędu. Wymieniłem już wiązkę przewodów do świec żarowych, nie pomogło.
