This Year’s Model is such a top-notch new wave record while still retaining that punky angst and ferocity. “No Action” and “The Beat” are some of my favorite songs off it. A great list . I have 5 of the albums on your list , and I plan to check out the other 5 , plus Pendant World . I love your selection of This Year’s Model . I saw Elvis Costello at Massey Hall in Toronto , on his 1978 tour . He played pretty much all of the album , plus a lot from his debut , and a few from Armed Forces . It was a killer show , that also included Nick Lowe and Mink DeVille . I love that Eno album as well . Cheers !

Oh, my man. Thank you. I appreciate that shout out and the kind words. So glad to hear it. Ready to do a joint video whenever you are, sir. Let's chat. Always loved that Coltrane cover photo. So damn great. I'm there with you on that Eno record. You know that record he was trying to make country music for space. Produced by Daniel Lanois. Beautiful album. The track "Weightless" is so so so good. Also cool to see that early Henderson. Still don't have that title. I know that AP cut it at a 2x45. Then Music Matters did it. And now the Blue Note Classic. Gotta nab that one. Nice to see you again after a long break. Bring the heat.

Lovell, nice to see your smiling face. You look happy and healthy, keep on truckin'. I love all Roxy Music but ''Avalon'' is the one I listen to the most. My favorite song by them is ''Mother of Pearl''. My cd of ''Coltrane'' includes 4 more versions of ''Tunji'', which is one of my top Coltrane tunes. Haynes, Burton, Metheny, Corea, Holland always generate high level vibrations. Haynes is the driving force behind all their great work, how can you not play great when Roy is creating the Heartbeat and laying down the railroad tracks! My current Dylan listen has been ''Blood On The Tracks'', the ''Desire'' album is the one I play the most. I remember when ''Hurricane'' was released as a single, heard it on the radio and it blew my mind.

Great list!. Love Roxy, although prefer their earlier output. LA Woman is my favourite Doors album along with the debut. Not heard that Coltrane album, will have to check out...just ordered a tone poet of Blue Train. Costello is great, particularly his late 70s - mid 80s period. Interesting you mentioned Desire, that's been my go to Dylan album for years. All the best from here in the UK.

Rob thanks man yes those early Roxy Music are so underrated Stranded is another killer Amazona and Mother of Pearl truly one of Ferry’s best vocals IMO . Costello was truly excellent from late 70’s to mid 80’s those are the albums I own have a wonderful week Rob and thanks for commenting and watching .

13:38,all your selections are great, but any man of color who is into the music of BOB DYLAN(especially blonde on blonde) is 100% cool.I'm surprised I'm not the only one and I can see that you have NEIL YOUNG unplugged on your wall.

Thanks Colinwilliams Dylan definitely was a poet his early recordings was influenced by Muddy and had a little acoustic blues in the undertones. Neil Young Unplugged is so underrated he did 2 takes of the recording I appreciate you stopping by have an awesome rest of the week and thank for commenting.

Hi Lovell, I'm new to your channel and I'll definitely be watching more of your content. I'm going to check out a few of those albums you showed such as the Balmorhea one and Apollo by Brian Eno. Love L.A. Woman, it's my second favorite of theirs. All time favorite of mine by the Doors is the debut album. Nice copy of Electric Lady Land. Is that a UK pressing? Never saw that cover before. Best, Steve

Fascinating selection, I can tolerate the Doors although been decades since I spun it, Eno's Apollo a masterpiece. Hendrix to my ears is noise pollution, puerile. Avalon is so cheesy and serene, not as 'bad' as it was perceived when it came out. Dylan should be prosecuted for crimes against music, nasty! xx

Thanks Miketomlin for watching Eno body of work is so interesting I feel the best thing he did was to leave Roxy Music it pushed his creativity as a solo artist .

@@MrLovell1971 His solo efforts, or until the early 80's, were much superior, or more sophisticated than Roxy's efforts. (to my mind one of the best pop bands on the planet, or were for a period. ). But he was older by then and tended to use or work with very talented muso's. I remember at the time Avalon came out thinking its reception was a bit harsh, it had/has a lovely 'easy listening' so called radio AOR friendly aroma to it.

@@MrLovell1971 His masterpieces, to my mind, although I have discussed his opus quite extensively with plenty of folks over the decades, are Ambient 4 and Another Green World. His early Lp's often seen as a little 'young'. Although personally I do think Apollo is worthy of being seen as 'almost' a masterpiece, but I might be biased here as I heard it at a more impressionable age and it has some 'emotive' associations. (We are likely not on the same page, most of the Lp's you show in your videos I find quite unlistenable!).
