That lentil soup is awesome. I love it by itself, but, I usually make a huge pot of soup with Aldi canned goods. I use a can of the lentil soup, a can of mixed veggies, a can of sliced carrots, and a can of whole potatoes. Sometimes I throw in a random can of beans as well.

I'm a BIG TIME Aldi girl. LOVE it there. Ours is set up differently. No candy by the produce picks. Also, they moved our prices to lower in the baskets instead of overhead. That 3 dollar sauce, they have in our special buys area and it's not moving. Not at that price. The other organic sauce was 2 bucks but recently they upped it. I go for the produce picks of the week. Our location is super duper clean and nice and I just love that store.

I found a brilliant "hearty tomato soup" recipe in the Engine 2 Cookbook - it is dead easy - water sauté a chopped onion add garlic then add two 15 oz cans of chopped tomatoes (called Pizza-Tomaten here in Germany) and three slices of whole grain bread and the same amount of veggie broth and cook for five minutes - then blend with an immersion blender (Stabmixer in German) - they had maple syrup in which I don't add and pepper to taste and it is a faithful quick meal - possibly good over steamed veggies too.

quic tip for runny/watery pasta sauce: if you undercook your pasta by 2 to 3 minutes, put the pasta in a strainer, and then back in the pot without the cooking water in it, then add the sauce to the strained pasta and just let it simmer for those last 2 to 3 minutes that you undercooked the pasta, that pasta will soak up some of that "extra" watery part of the sauce, and also some of the flavor...

Hi Craig, try this on your roasted cauliflower, it's really good: (you'll need to double it, because this is for one cauliflower) 1/8 cup olive oil 1-2 gloves garlic minced 1/4 cup of tahini juice of half a large lemon 1/2 tsp cumin 1/4 tsp salt and pepper saute garlic in oil 2-5 minutes, add remaining ingredients, cook another 2-5 minutes. pour over roasted cauliflower , allow to saturate, serve at room temperature.

Sometimes a product is available to be ordered but they stop ordering it because it doesn’t sell well at the certain location. Maybe ask the mgr if they can order it for you? I work at stop and shop and we have ordered discontinued flavors just for one customer and leave the excess on the shelf for whoever wants to buy :) worth a shot!

Hey! The other day I found vegan chik’n tenders AND patties at Aldis along with a bunch of different types of vegan burgers! Idk if it’s known that they sell that or if it’s new but I still thought it was cool. I tried the patties and they were really good. :)

Hickory smoke type flavor may be like liquid smoke is where they hurn the wood and normally use a type of still (yes like moonshine) to collect the flavored steam/smoke and concebtrate that down. Rosemary tea and/or syrup actually helps in cold abd flu season the more ya know

I saw that smokey pasta sauce the other day and wanted to get some but lacked the $ at the time.

Mom needs to make tomato soup in the instant pot now that she has one. It’s one of my favorite meals to make in the IP. I’m not vegan (and adore salt) but it’s an easy thing to customize. I like the canned San mart tomatoes. I sauté onion and garlic, add tomatoes and seasonings (I add better than bouillon chicken but I know they make veggie versions, tiny bit of sugar to knock the acid down. Like a tsp for a big pot, smidge of balsamic and some nooch yeast) cook in IP, blend in vitamix or use stick blender if you like chunky, add in some basil and milk (being non veg I use the cow variety but I’m sure almond would be great) and using sauté bring to simmer. Voila! I usually make a nice focaccia with garlic and rosemary to go along with it, or grilled cheese, but it’s good any way you make it and cheap and you can control the salt. Only takes about 20-30 to make it

I'd thought your parents coming from traditional candy-making business wouldn't really be open to veganism. Not sure if you've already addressed this in other videos but, how do you resist all that non-vegan candy in your parents' shop?? Also, what does Terry feel about running a candy business which stocks mainly non-vegan candy when she's decided to become vegan? (Not asking to be judgmental, cos I know different people different contexts, but just curious as to her thoughts).
