What was the point of bringing Logan back on Veronica Mars and then kill him

We dont want duncan.. we dont want piz... we dont want leo... we want logan!!! wtf their story was supposed to be epic :(

They could have let Logan live and send him off for an assignment with the Navy, and then bring him back occasionally. Veronica could still be the underdog and also have other issues with Logan in order to keep her struggling.

I know It's wrong but if they had to kill someone they could have still gotten the same result if they killed her dad. Her dad only has a hand full of years and is more of a liability these anyways. Logan had so much potential not just as veronica's husband but he with his military skill he could have been a good asset to mars investgation. To build his character journey up like that just kill him off just to motivate Veronica? That was too much of a ballsy move. They knew how fans felt about that couple. No one wants to see V move on with another guy but we don't want V by herself watching be scared to love again.

Binge watching old episodes and I'll say it again 📣Logan did not and will not ever deserve to die.... and the writer's excuse made no damn sense.....I admire Jason for his professionalism throughout the whole ordeal ...class act !

Im totally in love with Jason in this interview and can’t stop laughing but I’m also super sad that Logan’s gone and that they feel like they need Veronica to constantly be an underdog for the series to be interesting, I personally would have loved to have seen them married but still working out there issues, it’s something that was never seen on the series a working marriage.

I was honestly ok with the ending until I saw Rob's justification for it. I was happy that Veronica Mars took a massive creative risk. When I looked on social media, I thought I was seeing a bunch of fans who got WAY too invested in Logan, but then read an interview where Rob said that Veronica can't have a relationship, she's supposed to be an underdog. Yes, Veronica is the underdog, but she deserves to be somewhat happy. I never LOVED Logan, but after seeing the other sides, I see why fans do. He overcame a lot of difficulties and deserves to be happy. But that ending felt a bit sloppy and unjustified. I know the show is called Veronica Mars, not Logan Echolls. And do I think some fans are a bit too attached to Logan? Maybe. Do I think Logan deserved to die for the sake of another season? No. It seems to me like Rob wanted to get to another season, not focus on the season at hand. I don't hate the whole series, but I'm disappointed with how they decided to wrap it up. If this is the end, then it wasn't a good ending.

It's not just about Veronica. We loved the whole cast and it seems like a majority of them will not be in the next season, if there is one, and that just seems ridiculous to me. The mystery aspect of the show wasn't nearly as entertaining this past season, the only gripping parts were interactions between her and her father, previous characters, and of course Logan.

I was seriously heartbroken because he was finally getting life together. It is funny to think about how much I couldn't stand him at the beginning to now shedding actual tears as I hear his voice in the final scene. I am bummed about them thinking killing him was the best way to bring Veronica's pain full circle.

Here after 2 years and the S4 finale is like what?! Veronica can still be an underdog while Logan is alive. That's where the creative and more down-to-earth process can take place.

I was very upset and sad about this ending. As someone that was upset that the show was taken off of television.....I bought all the seasons and watched them over and over continuously wondering why on earth anyone in their right mind would abandon this show. Then came the movie which lite up my world! I couldn’t believe it and this Show was the first to have FANS okay the freakin FANS find the movie!! Does this not show networks how loyal the fans are for this damn show. Then to wait and wait and finally Rob decides to do another season just to rip the bandage of AGAIN! It hurts. I wanted to see Veronica and Logan finally happy. It just seems like whenever she got an ounce of happiness it was snatched away from her. This made me not want to see anything else. I’m over it. I don’t even want to watch the seasons over and over like I used to. Smh I’m literally in mourning. This was my favorite television show ever.

Man Jason is such a terrific and charismatic actor!! His character should not have been killed in service of a plot device. He is too good for that.

Rob Thomas should have known he messed up when they literally had to have Jason Dohring do a video explaining why he was killed off and apologizing to the fans. I know I'm proud and whatever, but of I were him I would have just declined to be put in the 4th season and he could have just been deployed or something all season. People would have been upset, but we would have gotten over it. I will not get over this

I was so upset that they killed Logan off. Kristen & Jay said she's better as an under dog because it fuels her fire, but then they ended the show so exactly what fire is it fueling? All I see it doing is making her withdrawing from any type of emotional intimacy & once again filling her full of rage. So, what was the point of killing him? It seems kinda ridiculous (the "V & Logan" breakdown: Lilly is killed her bestie & his gf, his mom kills herself, his dad gets killed after getting off from killing Lilly. Plus V's mom left her & dad & V found out her mom & Lilly's dad were having sex. Plus Logan slept with the girl behind V getting raped). My point to all this is why couldn't Logan & Veronica just been able to end the series happily married? Why could it end with her & Eli becoming friends again? I mean they were ending the show anyways why did it have to end like it begun full of tragedy & her full of rage. I liked the happier, softer Veronica and those characters deserved a happy ending. Well anyways I'm a year too late but I still wanted to express my extreme disappointment & anger. Thank you to all the actors & actresses for making an amazing series. Much love & God bless

It seems like it is a trend now to kill one of the main character (who is in a romantic relationship with an other character) in every famous tv shows... (GOT...) I am not happy about it. It was totally unnecessary to kill Logan... Will there be Veronica Mars season 5 or 6? Probably not, so we won't see Veronica's life after this... If there would be a season 5, I would maybe understand, but ... It was just for the drama and to shock the audience. Well, I am shocked, I guess it "worked"... Also, I won't re watch any Veronica Mars seasons in the future, because now it is just sad... I didn't watch it just for the mystery, I watched it because of the relationship between Logan&Veronica... They just killed one of my favorite couple from my childhood... "Congratulations"...

Veronica and logan were on and off for years and i kept rooting to see more of them and whenever they were happy they broke up the next day, something always happened and for the 5 years after the film they were finally together we barely saw any of it and came back to what we could hope was gonna be their happy ending, we were finally gonna see a kind of stable (as stable as they can be) logan and veronica and I was so looking forward to seeing more of them through the show, them being happy together while she kept doing what she did best, and then they killed him 😭 😠

From the moment Logan came to Veronica's rescue and they first kissed I, and I think I'm not alone in this, began watching it from another perspective. It wasn't the cases anymore, it wasn't the mystery of Lilly's death... it was the anticipation of Logan and Veronica's story.. their happy ending. And even though she often looked like she didn't see or didn't want to see his suffering and how much she was hurting him with her words, and sometimes she was almost torturous towards him THERE IS NO VERONICA MARS WITHOUT LOGAN ECHOLLS!!!

The story of Logan and Veronica was the best part of the show. I think there could have been a better way to make Veronica Mars an underdog. I don't think the show will be as interesting without Logan, and I don't think I will continue watching.

This didn't age well considering they only had season 4. I think people were pretty put off by the ending because it was just so unnecessary. You can't make a character grow but keep her as an underdog the whole time without change.

The reasoning Rob gave to justify killing off Logan is absolute rubbish. It appears he either has no interest in or no ability (or both) to write about the complexity of adult relationships that contain two strong personalities dealing with the challenges of careers, life, and their love for one another. Offing him was a huge mistake and actually makes it much less interesting, given the history of Kristen and Logan and the obvious and rare chemistry that exists between the two of them (and might I add that the much-used method of the wrong person getting blown up was trite and completely lacked imagination).

Between this and the ending of HIMYM....I think this probably hurt more because of the effort that went into getting the movie made after the CW canceled it and then to get Hulu on board. I get that Rob Thomas probably saw it as an opportunity to keep the show going when Hulu agreed to air another season, the part he really screwed himself on was the complete lack of appreciation for that core base that kept it in cult like status mode and ironically provided him with a pitch to the network to say that they had viewers who would watch. Clearly he misunderstood that while Veronica is core to the show, it was initially her relationship with Keith and then the great chemistry and storyline that developed with Logan that kept us so invested in the show. Also, not to forget that Mac, Dick, Wallace and Weevil were also key ingredients in the mix. I think that there was going to be a shelf life on the show but they could have had 1 maybe 2 seasons to finish telling the story that they wanted and at the end say job done. Alas, Rob screwed the pooch and made sure that probably won't ever happen again. So for me, LoVe got married and they lived happily ever after and I'm going to return to the land of denial where nothing else bad happened in the show.

I feel like there's always a little bit of Eleanor Shellstrop and a little bit of Veronica Mars in Kristen Bell.

I discovered Veronica Mars 6 years after the show got cancelled. Man you won't be able to imagine how frustrated I am to get hooked in a show that got cancelled for only 3 seasons. Veronica Mars character is very flawed and very human. The portrayal of character and the creation of her personality made Veronica Mars the person we wanted to be. We just want someone to pay for the bad things that happened to us and move on with life with satisfaction. The whole show along with the actors, writers and the staffs have made an iconic character that should be put in a well deserving time slot in a highly credible network( or platform ). She's the smartest character with high social skills compared to its TV show lead character peers. Enthusiastic with very high initiative. The show is without a doubt clever and witty. Most of all not martyr. I love that the show made us one with Veronica as we hear her thoughts but not give us all what she thinks which helps us understand her character better and at the same time give us a space to connect the dots and solve the cases on our own. After the 4th season, even though the finale was heartbreaking i'd still be that fan that will keep performing CPR on the Veronica Mars show till it comes back to life. What can I say. I'm a marshmallow.

I wouldn’t have minded if they had killed Logan in an eventual season 5 but to just have them marry and immediately after blow Logan up was too rushed and senseless

What is the point of killing Logan? Veronica Mars will always remain underdog 😅. Veronica Mars will always have miserable life by killing Logan. Really a wrong move. S1-S3 will always be in our hearts.

Not okay. I grew up watching Veronica Mars. I grew up loving the characters. I loved the movie. Her and Logan were perfect. I made my husband re watch the entire series with me. I raved about how good it was. Then we watched the 4 th season... let me tell you...what. a. let down....Between the sex, and the dismemberment and not letting her and Logan be a happily ever after. Especially that! Totally ruined it for me. One bad apple ruins the whole bin. I totally cried out of anger. Tv shows are an escape. If I want to watch tragic endings. And feel emotional pain, I will turn on the news. Our world has enough pain in it with out imbecile directors ruining fictional character lives too. Just Fix it.

Veronica is best as an underdog, so she can’t be badass with a husband??! She has to be single to be able to be a badass!!

Some people like scary movies with bad endings. Some people like romcoms with happy endings. Veronica Mars was neither of those genre's. I loved the show. I hated (HATED) the ending. For all of the years that VM and LE were on/off again, she was a strong underdog character. Thomas' killing of Logan did not make her appreciably stronger. And those of us who were invested in the show for years are the worse for it. Rob Thomas blew it, and now I can never recommend this show to anyone without a really big caveat...

Such a disservice to all the fans, after the kickstarter movie even. We feel betrayed. I wouldn’t watch another season, even if they made one. In my mind, the story ended with the last scene of the movie.

I hope salty fans don't derail the opportunity to have more Veronica Mars in the future - surely LoVe wasn't the ONLY reason that they were watching the show? It was an interesting relationship, sure, but it wasn't what the show was about. Veronica is the heroine of the piece and I'm here for more episodes.
