You can tell that Jason doesn't even believe what he just said

This show has such good writing that it surprises me they took the easy way out on this one. You can "cut out the teen drama" and "make veronica the underdog" without just easily killing Logan for shock value. A lot of the reason I loved this show so much was because of Logan and Veronica. I don't know if I'm going to like it as much without them.

This show is fortunate to even still exist and everything about it is fueled by it's following of diehard fan support. Hence, killing off such an awesome character/actor who is a major attraction/reason for that fan support is pretty heartbreaking and just feels wrong. Even if it's for the intended sake of elevating the scope of the show, wasn't really necessary, imo. They done Jason wrong, lol.

Pls bring him back. Women need the strong bond that Logan and Veronica share. They are both strong and have a ton of emotional baggage and to see them work through and support each other and give each other the room to grow is so very important especially at this time. Young people don't have enough role models, real people role models with realistic back stories and families dealing with huge life altering situations. This is important.

I just finished watching the season so I'm still a bit shook. The message Rob is sending with this death really is backfiring on him. It's basically saying women can only be strong and successful when they're alone and single. That being in relationships makes us too emotional and clouds are judgment and makes us weaker because we can't invest the same amount of energy in the non-relationship aspects of our lives because we are too consumed by our relationship. WTF Rob!

I've read every article "explaining" this and I truly do not agree with it. There is so much you can do with Veronica being an underdog without killing off Logan. You can show a relationship with Logan supporting Veronica, you can have a strong, independent women with a husband. Logan can help Veronica in many ways. SORRY

I disagree that the LoVe storyline makes it a “teenage drama.” The more teenage aspect of it for me was the “Veronica’s with Duncan! Then Logan! Back to Duncan! Maybe Logan! Now she’s with Piz!” and so on. Having LoVe be a normal couple with ups and downs isn’t “teenage” - I married my HS sweetheart and I assure you, we do not feel like teenagers! And Logan’s job lends itself perfectly to Veronica not having a man at home if that’s their concern. This all feels like a copout or just lazy writing.

i can't shake the feeling that Kristen wanted this....I mean I should have known something was wrong when she (recently) said that Logan was right for Veronica instead of repeating again how she thought they were wrong for each other

I waited for this season since last year I was so pumped for this. I watched all 8 episodes in a day and for the first 7 I was pleased by the way the show kept it's natural charm and chemistry, and then episode 8 happened. All my joy and happiness went right out the window. Killing Logan was the wrong move. Veronica and Logan would NEVER have a perfect relationship, they would have arguments and disagreements, just like a normal couple. Logan gets called off on duty at the drop of a dime so it's not like he was going to be hanging over Veronica's shoulder. Rob is full of shit, I wouldn't be surprised if later down the line we find out that Rob just didn't like Jason, and just wanted him off the show. That's how it seems to me.

I started to binge-watch Veronica Mars when I found out that it was coming back especially finding out that Logan was still in her life! I am so disappointed to find this out that they kill Logan off! I definitely don't want to see it now because this show was GREAT because of Veronica and LOGAN! Wow so disappointing to see writers killing off important characters. As Kristen Bell said, we are coming for him. BRING LOGAN BACK

So sad after watching for so long, if rob wants redemption he’s got to fix this in season 5 make it where Logan wasn’t near the car, or that he’s in a coma and wakes up, they never actually state that Logan is dead, there is no funeral, it skips a year ahead. Rob Thomas can fix this we fans have brought them together for a movie and a season 4 it’s okay to end with shock value , and it can be fixed. I’ll hold onto that hope. It’s tv, she had a dream sequence with Leo, this could be a dream sequence also, there are plenty of ways this can go with out Logan actually being gone.

I don't think the reasoning is justified. Basically he just put Logan in the Box of Just being Veronica love interest which he was not. He is such an interesting character and they just killed him Off for shock value. Veronica already is an Underdog, this just felt cheap and unnecessary!

I'm literally getting emotional about this lol! I'm not understanding why he has to die, though, if he did. Them explaining this does not make sense. KB was right, he (Rob) is definitely going to get strong feelings about this from fans. There has to be a better explanation for this. They shouldn't have had Logan and Veronica get married, and just break them up instead of killing him off. This is like How I Met Your Mother with the terrible ending they gave.

Was so disappointed with how the last episode ended.

They really could have made him lost at war or something and later bring him back. That bomb made no sense. And when the killer told Veronica if she was still around... Then that should have been a red flag to someone with her skills.

They set it up to where Logan is gone for weeks for work. If Rob Thomas wanted to focus on just Veronica and have her outside of Neptune, have her do that when Logan is deployed. And bc we've already seen their 'love story', we can focus on the mystery like Rob wants. If Logan really died, Veronica will probably get new love interests, and then you'll have to focus on that, taking away from the mystery. Logan and V were finally just happy together. They fought so much in earlier seasons, esp 3. They basically made the movie to give them their happy ending and now they took it away. Sure, I'd rather them be in love and he dies, versus they break up. But my favorite part of the show was seeing LoVe happy together. Logan is so funny and his wit matches Veronica. The show needs Logan's character. Have him be in a coma, it still fits w the ending. And don't break them up again, so no more teenage 'on-off again'. They're just a mature couple. Have them be an old married couple and focus on mysteries.

I am probably older than most of the demographic for this show, but there is something about it that sucked me in. Killing Logan feels like one of my kids was killed and completely unnecessary. They could have developed an outstanding partnership between them. With her savvy and his position with Naval intelligence they could have made them into a powerhouse crime solving couple and the whole fan base of VM would be eagerly anticipating each new season. In my opinion, I think it’s lazy of all writers to always destroy relationships on TV, it’s like teaching society that it’s easier to move on rather than fight for the family unit. Real life is hard enough, and people turn on the TV for comfort and companionship why not allow them more of the ‘feel goods’ instead of the continual destruction of home and family.

Also, the ending of season 3 left the characters in limbo! I did watch the movie they put out shortly after it broadcast, but I don't remember exactly how that went & will watch it again to see if anything was resolved from the season 3 finale.

You know I keep hearing the reason why he « had » to die but it still doesn’t make any sense. To me it’s still bullshit. There is so many other ways they could have make it interesting without killing him off. Veronica doesn’t have to be more in pain to be relatable, the conflict still exist, you can see it with all of her trauma. I don’t see how adding more to it makes it better or more interesting. I just binge watched in 1 week, saw for the first time, "Veronica Mars" from S1Ep1 through Logan's death. I don't like Logan dead. You could bring him back. Maybe you could write that the body was incinerated and that somebody else was waiting inside the car and that Logan was so damaged, managed to crawl away, and didn't want to drag Veronica down by being married to a cripple. Logan could then reappear. Or something like that. You're the writer, Rob Thomas! Come up with something. I want Logan-Jason Dohring back! I bet I'm not alone.

Huh. I wouldn't say he was the perfect man, or that anything was perfect. There's conflict in everything. I figured what was happening to Logan's character episode one and it soured the whole season for me. Because to me what would have been more interesting would be seeing Logan and Veronica together. The constant conflict of life and marriage. That wasn't good writing. It was the easy way out. Veronica would not have spaced a backpack that a bomber had just left in her car. -_- That's sloppy writing.

I understand this is Rob's creation and can do with it what he wants. It does make me sad/angry that they forget that it is the fans who made them who they are today. I have watched stuff just because he was involved. That is no more. He lost me as a fan when he decided to kill a character that I enjoyed. I understand there are some who are glad/understand why he did this, so they can write more episodes for them. I am out. Last thought : "Logan: I thought our story was epic, you know. You and me. Veronica: Epic how? Logan: Spanning years and continents. Lives ruined and bloodshed. Epic. But summer’s almost here and we won’t see each other at all. I’m so incredibly disappointed Logan died and if season five ever happens can we start a petition to bring him back. Alive, not some ghost. we can pretend he somehow escaped or survived the bomb and boom life is amazing again.

I was so upset that they killed Logan off. Kristen & Jay said she's better as an under dog because it fuels her fire, but then they ended the show so exactly what fire is it fueling? All I see it doing is making her withdrawing from any type of emotional intimacy & once again filling her full of rage. So, what was the point of killing him? It seems kinda ridiculous (the "V & Logan" breakdown: Lilly is killed her bestie & his gf, his mom kills herself, his dad gets killed after getting off from killing Lilly. Plus V's mom left her & dad & V found out her mom & Lilly's dad were having sex. Plus Logan slept with the girl behind V getting raped). My point to all this is why couldn't Logan & Veronica just been able to end the series happily married? Why could it end with her & Eli becoming friends again? I mean they were ending the show anyways why did it have to end like it begun full of tragedy & her full of rage. I liked the happier, softer Veronica and those characters deserved a happy ending. Well anyways I'm a year too late but I still wanted to express my extreme disappointment & anger. Thank you to all the actors & actresses for making an amazing series. Much love & God bless

I feel like using the excuse that Veronica couldn't be interesting with her finally catching Logan is complete bullcrap. It would have been far more interesting to watch the two of them try and figure out marriage and family life, especially since neither of them had great role models for their parenting part. Veronica's mom was a terrible role model and Aaron Echolls is about as bad a father as you can get. It would have been fun and interesting to watch the two of them figure it all out.

Some body language signs I picked up during this interview..for instance - at 0:21 he touches his eye really quickly which sometimes it’s a sign of disbelief, being the right eye it means he himself doesn’t understand the why of what he’s saying. - 0:28 when he says “Rob was really cool.. awesome” he touches his nose two times which means he is annoyed. While Kristen was listening and looking at him like thinking and when he said “now I know” and they started laughing, she was serious and it took her a second and then her expression quickly changes from “smiling” to i would say disapproval, also her head was pointed down and her hand indicates that. - 5:08 when he touches his ear, which usually it’s more of a positive sign, in this case can mean he doesn’t believe what he’s hearing. I love how the others are so supportive, Jason looks so sad and he has the right to be, it feels like a betrayal.. I know it seems like Kristen is very enthusiastic about what’s to come but in between when she’s not speaking she looks sad too. I think it’s normal she can’t really say if she disagrees with the decision, it’s her job, even Jason, of course he’s not happy with all of this, but they have to make it look like they “understand” and they’re happy. Just my opinion.

Heartbroken Logan was just as important to the show as Veronica. All shows do anymore is kill off characters... So in my mind I'm hoping that Logan walked away from the car towards that approaching car/truck and was far enough away to not get killed, when we see Veronica thrown back onto the bed, she gets knocked into a coma, and everything after that is in her coma mind. The beginning of S5 is her waking in the hospital. Logan is healed and on leave to be by her side.There's a small case to solve at the hospital, she recovers. They go on their honeymoon, but while there (aka not in Neptune) Logan gets called in and Veronica stumbles on another case (pirates maybe) as shes working it we see Logan is working it too, but he can't tell her or reveal that he's that close to her or the case (because secret military reasons).... I know this is just my fan fic, but I'm going to hug it like a wobby. I personally don't want to watch with out both Logan and Veronica. Love for all the cast, and even Rob for creating Veronica Mars.

Talking about this as a teen drama romance or whatsoever is bullshit. I grew up with VM. Characters grew up too. Veronica and Logan were meant for each other. It took them so long to be where they were. She still can be an underdog (and she was kinda ruining her relationship with Logan almost through all season 4 tbh) but with having someone by her side. The show won’t be the same without Jason. I’m so disappointed. Not gonna watch anymore.

The writing on season 4 was not on par with earlier seasons. The character of Veronica was portrayed as obnoxious and unlikable. The nail in the coffin for VM was the killing off of the co lead character, Logan Echolls. What a stab in the back to the longtime loyal fans, huge mistake, HUGE!

I don't understand why you should kill of Logan. As a fan of the show I was so excited for the 4th season but it was 50-50 for me. I like it because it is Veronica Mars, but the whole time it was off with Logan character. He has so little screen time , little lines, Veronica always push him away.And that ending is bullshit.If you want Veronica to go away from Neptun and solve crimes, you should start season 4 with Veronica go back in Neptun for the booming.She should be in FBI or PI in big city and go back in Neptun for the case. Or in the end to go out of Neptun for cases and Logan to go on work for like 6 months. He can go back where Veronica is working and have screen time. It does not make scense to kill Logan when you KNOW fans wont be happy.

This interview is essentially a sales pitch to maintain interest in the show. I'll be waiting to see how they keep the fans devotion. I still don't see the necessity of including this loss to the character! At the very least you don't slam her with what is clearly a constant pummeling to the psyche! They should have never wrote Logan as her main romantic interest to begin with! They could have brought him back slowly. The underdog theme/explanation doesn't cut it from my perspective! Rob Thomas needs to stop using cheap shock value filler scripting!

I like how they've tried to exlain this poor decision for almost 7 minutes and fans still don't buy it. You did something wrong if you have to justify your writing that long and that often... basically in every interview. I love Veronica but she has been underdog all her life. She found Wallace as her closest friend then she found her true love - Logan. Why she always has to be alone? Veronica has already learn her lesson: it's good to have a backup... your closest people makes you strong.
