Rob Thomas said in the commentary that they changed it because it needed to feel more 'grown-up,' since the characters were transitioning from high school to college. Personally, I really like this mix!

WHY. DID. IT. END?????!!!!!! 😡 it's soooo much better then half the crap on now!! Because really I don't care about these wimpy girls going after guys that treat them like rubbish but they still "love" them! If Logan or Duncan did something to Veronica that was bad shed probably taser them! Not stand there with a stupid expression on her face! If Veronica mars ever came back on I can guarantee it would be one of the most watched shows ever

@alvarado509 I think they changed it for A:) The fact the show was moved to The CW(After the UPN and WB merger) and they wanted to make it feel a little more important(Even though it was clearly the best show on the new network along with Smackdown) and B:) to Reflect the overall change and growth of the show.
