As I have discussed in the past, the 2008 Clone Wars animated series and its tie-ins will be included or omitted on a case-by-case basis. In the case of Aayla Secura, I can admit that most of my issues with her portrayal are mere personal quibbles, and that the date of Anakin Skywalker's Knighthood and whether or not he had an apprentice really isn't pertinent to Secura's storyline.
That being said, the less said about Dark Disciple, the better.
In addition to TCW and its various tie-ins, my analysis of Aayla Secura will be drawn from her appearances in the Star Wars prequel trilogy and its tie-ins, the 2003 Clone Wars microseries and its tie-ins, and the Star Wars Republic comic series, among several others.
As for Komari Vosa, my analysis of her will be drawn from her primary appearance in the Star Wars: Bounty Hunter video game, the Jango Fett: Open Seasons comic miniseries, the expanded universe novels Darth Plaguies and Maul: Lockdown, along with her entry on the Starwars.com databank and her RPG character sheet presented on the Wizards of the Coast website.
Background information on both characters and the overall setting will be drawn from The Essential Guide To The Force, The New Essential Chronology, The New Essential Guide To Weapons And Technology, Lightsabers: A Guide To Weapons Of The Force, and The Jedi Path, obviously among many others.
Komari Vosa, the fallen Jedi leader of the Bando Gora cult, and Aayla Secura, Jedi Knight and Republic General. If these two victims of Jango Fett's legacy were to meet in battle, who would win?

I do adore when you come out of complete leftfield with new characters, I adore you making your old classics the same way I enjoy any classic but when you throw out someone completely new that I honestly dont have the ability to comment on who will win its so much more enjoyable being not only entertained but educated as well. @@Jensaarai1 Yeah, Ventress would stomp. Ventress vs TPM Maul could be good. My money's on Maul but I think Ventress would go down swinging. Especially since her weapon is better and she makes better use of the Force and tactics.

Shaak Ti vs Darth Malak sounds interesting. Physically, Ti gets the edge thanks to her Togruta traits. Ti gets the dueling edge because her Makashi-Ataru hybrid leaves less openings compared to Malak’s use of Forms II, IV and VII. As Force wielders, Malak can use Force lightning, stun and whirlwind, but Ti employs telekinesis in a precise, subversive and cunning manner and uses it as a compliment to her martial art compared to the Sith Lord. So overall, Ti would win, but Malak would still pose a serious threat

shaak Ti vs Darth malak would be a close one. even though shaak ti is a master with the saber and an amazing duelist, Malak is just the superior lightsaber duelist and a stronger force wilder.

There is a TCW comic, Star Wars Tales #12 :Tales of Villainy : Give and Take, where Aayla duels Ventress briefly. Despite it being TCW, it did portray the fight in a believable way, with Ventress toying with Aayla on purpose, using the enviroment against her and fighting her with her sabers conjoined, while Aayla was shown throwing a bunch of battle droids and lifting debris, forced to break away from the fight to save some Geonosians.

No joke I was wondering when you’d be uploading again just today, that’s some great timing. Side note, any chance of doing a exar kun is not invincible video much like how you guys did the sidious is not invincible video??? I’ve come to terms with kuns skills and armament, *glares at archaic saberstaff*.........mostly, but it’s getting aggravating seeing people saying he could match and defeat the likes of grand master Luke, dooku, krayt, and more and is practically the be all end all, yet we’ve never really seen kun himself fight anyone of their caliber aside from maybe ulic.

People say that? I've never seen that, and its absurd. Exar Kun was a natural who never really applied himself and used tricks and threats to make everyone think he was better than he was. Granted, he was still really good, but he was not ultimate top-tier.

I honestly hate exar kun, I find him just insufferable and everytime i see him speak i picture him with the whiny superboy prime voice, but i won't deny he's definitely skilled, just not top tier or the all time greatest. That's why im hoping jensaarai1 and the others can actually do a video like the sidious is not invincible one, you can show he's powerful but not invincible.

I can't speak for the rest of the Fanalysis Council or for any other Versus creators, but for myself, I've found that Aayla exists in that awkward middle ground where she is way better than the average Jedi, but doesn't truly compare to the great masters, and the number of people in her own league is pretty small, and a lot of the outcomes are simply too obvious.

@@Jensaarai1 Well, there's TCW Ahsoka (I know you don't care for her), Teneb Kel, TPM Kenobi, Barris Offee (EU), K'khruk, Cal Kestis. Tier 5 Force users are smaller in appearances than Tiers 4 to 2, but if one looks well enough, they are there.

Excellent video with an unexpected but fun match up. AKA standard Jensaarai. Ps I’d love to hear your and the council’s thoughts on Maul Lockckdown. I love the story and think it’s the closest to an R rated Star Wars story we are likely to get. ( mutilation, Cannibals, drug dealing, illegal gambling, death matches, implied sex with a minor ( or at least blackmail with sex pictures) and just more graphic descriptions of violence than most other Star Wars books.))

Thank you for being one of the few people to still make ACTUAL Star Wars content and further the Universe:) Aside from a couple of gems Disney has produced like Rogue One and The Mandalorian, most of their stuff from their comics to their "Trilogy" are not real Star Wars, they just aren't for so many reasons. But the way you detail these ACTUAL Star Wars characters, even the ones from Legends, as Legends has and always will be Real Star Wars, you show the true nature of these characters, their skills. You show how they lived and their styles and the pros and cons, the reasons they may or may not be good against a certain foe. It actually furthers the universe as it may teach me about someone. I didn't know about Komari even though I delve very deeply into the Expanded Universe and lore, hours and hours spent reading daily about Star Wars. I love that there is still Expanded Universe material to learn of, and I appreciate you for being a medium in which I can! Even for people who know the character, they may not have considered this fight so it still furthers the world for them as well :)

@@thelevisullivan Haven't even cared to check it out lol, I have to check out some of the things like how they just copied the cut content that THEY decided in the first place not to use, like the Bad Batch. But I don't care for ignorant stupid decisions that show they OBVIOUSLY don't know or care about Star Wars. Lightsaber Colors have significant meaning, blue for the sword masters who focus on fighting skills, green for the Consulars who focus on peaceful resolutions and force abilities. Ahsoka is a GREEN personality, not even CLOSE to blue, she would be so many others before blue. But give her blue cause it's the main color and it's "different." That one detail shows me they don't care, so I don't care for their work :)

I'm actually planning on doing Cade Skywalker Vs. Exar Kun. As for Ventress, its interesting but ultimately slanted too heavily in Cade's favor. His experience against Talon, Nihl, and Krayt prepares him for all of Ventress' skills, while his own power level and intensity are clearly comparable to Anakin Skywalker's.

Damn I was late to the party. That being said. You start of with a TCW rant. And yes Aayla's accent is something I found...questionable. Vosa being a form 3 specialist is quite...odd. She died to a bounty hunter and used form 3. Wait is she worse than Coleman Trevor? Also, Vosa reminds me of Darth Wredd. Wasted potential due to being mentally broken. As for your verdict, yeah I agree. Aalya basically does a lot of what Vosa does but better. Though I didn't know Vosa had a talisman.

Agreed 100%. Komari's only chance would be if brought in a sea of slaves to tire Aayla out, then attack. Apart from that, Aayla Secura is just on another level.

Unfortunately both characters were cut down before their primes. If Dooku had maintained Vosa as a padawan and trained her to knighthood I can only imagine that the result would have been very different.

She would have been a much more serious threat combatively as a start. Her serious shortcomings would have been at least lessened, her stronger attributes would have been brought out, and her potential would have been likely reached. With a longer tutelage under Dooku, she would have likely developed more dueling-centric abilities (maybe leaning harder into the Makashi influence), certainly developed stronger Force abilities (especially improving her telekinesis, her Tutaminis would possibly be even able to deflect low-level Force lightning, and turning her telepathy into a terrifying weapon), and her strategic and tactical viability would have been greatly improved. She could have been a differently developed Asajj Ventress, with her focus being subversion and dismantling her opponents bit-by-bit. Instead of using telekinesis to trip them up like Ventress, maybe she would haunt them with illusions of their failures after probing their mind, or forcing them to relive trauma. She would be a Tier 3 threat at a minimum as she was a noted talent. If she got to any form of Tier 2, she would be force to be reckoned with, and would be horrifying in one-on-one duels. If she left with Dooku after this development, Ventress would have some serious competition. Hell, she could possibly even best Ventress if she achieved her full potential. Also, if she didn't fall to the Bando Gora she would be more mentally stable, offering her a moderate advantage against Ventress. Because, as we all know . . . Ventress' issues have issues. So yeah, she'd either be a terrific Jedi Master, or a possibly superior Ventress.

@@austinkersey2445 I don't know if she would have ever managed to measure seriously up to Dooku, and imo, Ventress did sort of max out in the war. I've always wondered if it was a fault in his teaching style, or if he was simply too good at what he did for an apprentice of his to surpass him, because none of his students can really measure up to Dooku in any category, despite his age (Arguably Grievous was better with a lightsaber, but only in certain situations.). But yeah, Vosa as a more developed threat wold have been very fun to watch, and I think that her character might have been more interesting if they'd kept her around a while longer.

@@drachna I think Dooku was just that good. None of his apprentices can really measure up because his only competition amongst the Jedi were Yoda and Mace Windu. The amount of Force users who can measure up to that standard are extremely small. Dooku was his era's reigning master of Makashi and is one of the most versatile and potent Force wielders of his age. Not even Grievous (skilled as he was) could stand up to Dooku's natural and developed power if confronted seriously by the count. As for Ventress, she likely reached her potential. Which is to say, she could handle Council Masters. Her only true betters were the two reigning Sith, Yoda, and Mace Windu, with her only equals being Shaak Ti, Plo Koon, Ki-Adi-Mundi, Anakin Skywalker, and Obi-Wan Kenobi. And a fully developed Vosa would be strong, as she was a noted prodigy by her master. She was also a highly skilled Padawan, being able to fight in the Battle of Galidraan against the True Mandalorians. She could have been a terrifying threat if she reached her full potential, but she suffered from a case of "the Big Horny" and unfortunately met the Bando Gora. I would like to point out that this is a teenager thirsting for a man in his 50s or 60s. As much as I love Dooku, that's just wack, and thank the Force he said no.

Love the match up. Pre vid I would guess aayla. From what I remember of lockdown komari is pretty unhinged and has a similar skill set to aayla. With duelists of this level I think composure is a big factor.

I just wish it didn't look like a previous generation game made compared to the other versions :\ Because to me the campaign is the most important aspect, so the look of the game is very important as it was more like a movie to me and I was just interacting with it at times. So to me the Playstation is the best version even though I play Xbox because if I remember correctly Playstation had the far best graphics, which for a movie is of course what you'd want lol It's absolutely real Star Wars and far more authentic and cannon than the Disney "Sequel Trilogy" Galen Marek is one of my ALL TIME favorite Star Wars characters, right up there with Qui-Gon and Ahsoka. I also LOVE that Vader, like Anakin, had a Padawan with the SAME lightsaber style!

@@eldenvedetta635 For sure, I play the PS3/360 version of TFU for the story but I just find so much enjoyment in the gameplay from its PS2/Wii counterparts, even if the story is very off at times. Its basically how i can stomach playing through Jedi Fallen Order, cause the story is the equivalent of rotten afterbirth, but that gameplay is absolutely superb. Lol

@@yrooxrksvi7142 Mainly my issues with the story lay with the significance of the whole Zeffo lore thing, it feels really bland and boring and out of place. I get that they are trying to expand the new canon but it just didnt work for me, not to mention that I just dont buy this small rag tag group of people trying to rebuild the order, its too ambitious a task. And even though they obviously domt succeed, the fact they ended up destroying the holocron anyway made the story feel pointless. Coupled with the fact that im also just not a fan of TCW or Rebels in the slightest, so the references to both shows mean absolutely nothing to me.

Sariss the Prophetess is a pretty interesting case. While not extremely powerful or a telekinetic savant, she has Deadly Sight and Mind Shard. Imagine getting vaporized slowly while also being bombarded by Force-induced migraines and flashes at the same time. As a duelist, I'd rate her as roughly on par with AoTC Anakin. Dedicated Form V lightweight. Agen Kolar is also interesting as he's basically Anakin and Maul fused together in terms of fighting style.

Please if you could consider! I would love to see a Qui-Gon versus Mace Windu:) maybe even BOTH at their prime! Qui-Gon an of course EXCELENT duelist, chosen by Dooku personally, but Mace Windu, one of the most powerful Jedi ever, even harnessing the forbidden 7th lightsaber style of combat but twisting it around to make it his own form of Vaapad, working very well against DARK SIDE opponents, would not have that benefit against Qui-Gon who controls his darkness. I'm curious your thoughts as well!

@@yrooxrksvi7142 that sounds interesting. Physically, Aayla would get a slight edge because she’s much tougher. Alora gets the Force edge since she can use lightning and it’s unknown if Secura’s use of Tutaminis is powerful enough to deflect it. As martial artists, I can see Aayla’s mastery of Forms IV and V allowing her to keep pace with Alora Jar’Kai variant of the Fast Style. Alora’s serious weakness is her overconfidence. This was a factor that prompted her to flee from apprentice Jaden Korr and later getting killed by him after his knighthood. So overall, Aayla would win

@@darylsdesigns6679 I agree, that's a pretty accurate assessment. Aayla's lackluster Tutaminis would be a negligible disadvantage, all things considered. Another idea I had was Aayla and Eldra Kaitis (from the Marvel Darth Maul comics, the few decent things out of Disney) VS Talon and Alema Rar. Or alternatively, Vosa vs Taron Malicos.

@@yrooxrksvi7142 I haven’t read the New Jedi Order era books to know about Alema Rar to come up with a conclusion for the first suggestion. As for the second, I’m pretty sure Taron Malicos would win against Vosa. Their applications of Jar’Kai seems more or less comparable, its questionable if her Soresu technique would be able to hold of Malicos’ implied use of Ataru. Plus, Malicos is much better and more willing to incorporate telekinetic attacks into his bladework than Vosa is. Here another interesting matchup: Tholme vs Mara Jade Skywalker, the Spymasters

This was quite unexpected for sure. Two characters with little use in the verse getting their debuts. Quick question for you. I’ve been planning on using TCW Maul in a versus video down the line and after watching his showings in season 7 do you think his skill level downgraded to Ahsoka’s level or was he at the same level as we saw him in Son of Dathomir and was simply sleep deprived and not focused?

Imo Maul in Season 7 was more frustrated and frantic than sleep deprived. He felt Palpatine's grand plan was coming to full circle, but just when he thought he could stop him, Ahsoka thwarts it. He tries to reach her out, but she immediately denies him when he talks about Anakin. His defeat was due to unwillingness to kill Ahsoka, due to feeling kinship in her betrayal from the Jedi, and simply his mind wasn't there, between the Clones coming to get him and sensing his former Master's near victory. In other words, it was a psychological defeat. In terms of power, he's consistent with Son of Dathomir, if not amped up by Order 66 leaving a trail of death.

His skill wasn’t downgraded. He lost because he underestimated Ahsoka the same as he underestimated Obi-Wan the first time. Even then, it took Ahsoka everything she had to contend with Maul.

@@yrooxrksvi7142 I just figured Shaak Ti vs Darth malak would be interesting since they're the only two characters in Lore to use a Makashi Ataru hybrid style but use them differently. Shaak iT's version combining the precise blade work of Makashi with the Acrobatics of Ataru. While Malak used a one handed version of Juyo that was built around combining the fencing style footwork of makashi with the elaborate bladework of Ataru. Savage and Irek because they're both just massive juggernauts. And as for Lumiya vs Celestie, well its just something im interested in. Because why not?

@Wes Bradley-Taubner Likewise, especially if he's featuring Antares Draco, finally an Imperial Knight. As for your verdicts, I dunno, Reborn Krayt is pretty damn powerful. And Malak can be very reckless, so his aggression could play into Ti's hands. Sadly, I'm almost as clueless as you are on Morne and Nyax, though her Lightning almost fried Krayt to death.

I haven't gotten around to reading Dark Disciple, but I had planned to, due to my interest in Asajj Ventress and Quinlan Vos. So, I am very curious about what exactly your critiques are, regarding that specific novel.

Simply put, don't bother. It's a garbage romance fanfiction, Ventress and Vos hook up together on a mission to take down Dooku, she dies, he almost kills Dooku through plot convenience and faces no consequences from the Jedi Council. And Ventress kills Tholme off screen for more edgy melodrama. Just stick to the Republic comics by Dark Horse.

After all (before this book) we have never seen Ventress express any sort of romantic feelings toward anyone. I was curious to see how this new side of her character might be explored, especially toward a Jedi after she has spent so long as one of their enemies.)

@@savagenature1 There's simply no point of shoving Ventress into a relationship. In the old EU, she was a PTSD suffering psycho who channeled her rage and hate through slaughtering or torturing Jedi and Republic soldiers alike, and it wasn't until Dooku betrayed her on Boz Piti (NOT in space around Sullust and by his own volition, not Sidious'), that she finally decided to let everything go. In TCW, she's a cartoonish flanderization who rarely achieves a victory and just aimlessly switches sides after Dooku betrays her. Besides, she and Vos never crossed path at any point in time before, and he already fell in love and had a child with someone else, Khaleen Hentz.

As I said before, the idea of Ventress being in a relationship intrigues me because it could show a different side to her character. However, I would not be onboard with putting her into a relationship if it doesn't align with what she would do and/or doesn't serve the larger story. As you know, doing something like that wouldn't do her character or the story any favors.

Aayla secura is actually a high council member remember as she does hold a seat. It makes her a Jedi high general. She was given several diplomatic missions before which she defused many disputes on various planets. It’s often overlooked as many forget that she is a council member.

Aayla Secura's voice actress is from Canada she is from Newfoundland and Labrador which boarders Quebec but I do feel sorry for her that she had to speak with a French accent I have no problem with that if she was from Quebec but she is from Newfoundland and Labrador not to mention people from Newfoundland and Labrador have this kinda half Irish and half Scottish accent as a Irish person even I can't understand it but anyways Aayla Secura's voice actress is a good voice actress I just think that she should have been able to voice Aayla Secura in her own way that she wanted to voice her.

Jensaarai once made Ventress vs Executor Sedriss (Palpatine's chargeman of his Dark Side Elite during Dark Empire), who was a Form V practitioner, but sadly it got taken down by Disney. Otherwise, other possible Form V opponents could be Galen Marek, though he was a Shien practitioner, Adi Gallia, who's never been featured in any Versus matchups, Bultar Swan, Agen Kolar, Jaden Korr, who's practically Kyle lite, and MAYBE, EU Leia, who fought Alema Rar, also comparable to Ventress.

In the Battlefront 2 game she is depicted as a jar kai user wielding both a blue and green saber but it doesn't seem like this was the case in the films or any other EU material. Is there any other material that suggests she was a jar kai user or was that purely a game design choice for Battlefront 2?
