Darach is a true one-scene wonder, it would have been great to have a novel centered on him and padawan Satele. While I agree that his style is well-suited against Grievous I don't see his feats as impressive enough to beat Grievous.

I feel like there's an exaggeration on his defeat, he was fatigued after a lengthy battle against sith lords in which he killed 1 and only crumbled because he was tired and because malgus's force enhanced aggression

Its all good that you cranked this out fast. And even then, I still like the matchup because its a matchup between 2 combat oriented Niman Specialists. One is reactive, one is proactive. I think I speak for everyone, Im just super happy that your channel is back and your first vs video since regaining your channel. But going into this, I have no idea who to put my money on. On the one hand, Grevious can get in close and unload Ala Malgus. On the other hand, Kao's skill with force integration and evasive style is a great way of handling Grevious. So we have a offensive RNG Machine against an a more evasive take on the Great Wall of China of Def. Which is just short of the best way to bring Grevious down. 6:40 Again, I heavily disagree with you on this point. Grevious is noted to be made out of Duranium which is lightsaber resistant. It can take glancing blows from lightsabers. 14:30 Oh shit. Totally forgot about this. Kao with 2 blades against Grevious is a smart move and lets him better leverage his entire skill set. 15:35 Yeah I agree with this one. These two both are optimized to exploit each others weaknesses to a pretty similar degree. 22:00 Worth noting that since his style is more about physical evasion than pure efficient bladework, his delicate defensive style is a little worse because grievous can stay on top of him and hammer him to death. But then again, Kao has great get off me options in force push and force throw. Kao does have the right tools for the job, but this is still really close.

When I am reminded of Grievous as he was portrayed in the original expanded universe it reminds me of one of the marvel Darth Vader comics where a mad scientist guy has created new cyborgs based on or inspired by General Grievous. Unfortunately they are based on the Grievous of TCW and as such these new creations are far less intimidating than if they had been based upon EU General Grievous.

I've just got around to watching this. Firstly - Brilliant that you're not only back but have your channel in one piece! Second, I absolutely love your breakdown of Kao's fighting style when you have him in your videos. It's much less "Ataru mixed with x" and far more very specific fighting moves and fighting style which is really appreciated. I just wish there was enough material for this type of fighting style breakdown for most of our other favourites.

To be brutally honest, I do not think anyone will complain or question any new video's from you after coming back to KZfaq. TO have an extra one instead of further waiting for a big project will leave everyone elated. Especially this one too because, in all honesty, it's unique in it's own right: 1)Grevious has his critical weakness against direct Force-attacks and is pitted against a Paragon of telekinetic tactical applications. 2) Both were anomalies in their eras; a peacetime Jedi Guardian donning armour with a highly-developed Force-focused repertoire. And a cyborg Jedi-killer with a swordsmanship measure that only he could utilize. 3)Both have advantages against the other's critical shortcomings, so the excitement over who could press in on who's first is building excitement in every moment of this video. I'm still excited to see Darth Vader vs. Kyle Katarn, and a Strikezone video right now after seeing this channel coming back is awesome.

For something you threw together on the fly, this was very enjoyable. And it had an unexpected conclusion.

I concur with your estimation of how this battle would conclude, with the exception, I don't personally feel Kao would have such a hard time. It would take him a while, and he would get bloodied, with this I agree. I think Grievous would actually have less trouble with Malgus, and that ultimately I find myself unable to call a winner in that match. I'm sure smart money says Malgus, I wouldn't bet either way. I think something that isn't mentioned (because I guess it's never been given significance) is that when it comes to Dooku vs. Grievous, Dooku not only taught Grievous everything about lightsaber combat, he also knows every single thing Grievous is made of, Dooku has a knowledge of Grievous' weaknesses (some possibly even intentional by design to ensure he couldn't overcome Dooku) surpassing even Grievous' own understanding of his weaknesses, it's never given weight, but this is a severe edge in the favor of Dooku in any encounter against Grievous, as well as the fact they've never attempted a full force fight to the death, to my knowledge, so their practice sessions, though relevant, are not exactly a perfect depiction of what a real fight between them would be like. Grievous' overwhelming, power oriented style as well as his near-infinite stamina is similar to the type of advantages that Anakin has over Dooku, so what I'm saying isn't that Grievous would beat Dooku in a real fight, or if Dooku didn't know all of Grievous' weaknesses, but that Dooku has a very strong circumstantial and specific advantage over Grievous and it's not simply that he's a league above Grievous in dueling ability, because they're in the same relative tier, just below the very best of the best in Star Wars. Just a view of mine, I think if Grievous can copy and counter other people's styles to near perfection in moments as well as analyze weaknesses to an almost shatterpoint level, as well as the amount of time he's analyzed Dooku's style, if Grievous really wanted to kill the Count, I think it's not outside of the realm of possibility for him to do so. Of course, many will just say "The Force" and rip any legitimate credit away from Grievous, but hey, at least I try to open a logical discussion.

My friends and I were talking about what would have happened if another Battlemaster had been involved with Knightfall instead of Cin Drallig. We came up with a couple good match-ups that would be interesting fights. Anakin vs Lord Hoth or Anakin vs Kyle Katarn

anyone notice that of all the versus series Grievous participated in, he only lost one fight?

I think it's also worth noting that Derach was only thoroughly overwhelmed by Malgus after being through the ringer, and before that was capable of dealing with his power.
