1928年にリリースされた最初期の
国産ジャズレコードです。
A面は松竹ジャズバンドによる「印度の唄」
B面は松竹ジャズバンドに井上起久子の歌で
「春の歌」。
The very early jazz record in Japan circa 1928.

Spring Song by Inoue Kikuko (Vocal) with Shichiku Jazz Band
Probably these recording were made by electrical system.
Very rare and historical piece!!!

貴重な音源ありがとうございます。昭和初期の大阪松竹座専属バンドの音楽レベルが結構高いのに驚きました。何よりもノイズがあまりひどくないので、保管状態の良さにも驚きです。 B面の「春の唄」は、松竹楽劇部が昭和4年に大阪松竹座で開催した「第四回春のおどり」のテーマ曲に使用されてます。翌年の「春のおどり」には「桜咲く国」が登場、松竹楽劇部が大阪松竹歌劇団、そして現在のOSK日本歌劇団と変わりながら今もなお歌い継がれる歌劇団のテーマソングとなりました。

貴重な音源をありがとうございます。　亡父が1918年生まれ、未亡人の母は1927年生まれです。　日本のラジオ放送は1925年に開始され、1928年には、全国で受信可能となり、おそらく耳にしていたかも知れませんね。

Who composed the song in japanese? This recordings are beautiful, and I didn't know about the existence of japanese jazz recordings of the 1920's. Thanks for upload this video. Hello from Mexico!!!

Hi! Actual recording date sheet was missing because it's long long time ago. Now we can hear on CD but they say "Probably recorded in 1925". Nitto Record Company started electric recording systems in 1925-26. It's so incredible!!

Definitely electric. And the style is definitely late 1920's. The vocal is very catchy. I wish I could understand Japanese! Very nice record. It's amazing how fast that musical style spread worldwide -- and this was at a time when there was no internet, no television, and radio was still very, very new. A lot of people at that time felt that jazz was a corrupting, morally degrading influence. Well, some of it yes and some of it no. But either way, the very worst of that era was NOTHING compared to the trash that is proliferating nowadays.

The name of the first song is "Please Play Song Of India For Me"! and this is one HECK Of a AWESOME Record! Recorded in 1927! You are correct indeed, And Jazz was played much earlier in the 1920s then this! I Believe that the Old Large Note Columbia style label through`s some folks off to the Year of the Recording! As well as the primitive but AWESOME Early Electrical recording sound! And You are right on about the TRASH of today! If You can`t whistle it! It has No Melody, Therefore it is NOT MUSIC!

You're right. This is music and not the trash of today. In Mexico, were i live, you can find that trash music everywere. And is the wrost trash, maybe wrost than in other countries. Apart of the trash popular music that some people listen, you must listen a political propagandistic song (in Mexico there are presidential elections this year (2018)), that is reapeted daily in every TV, in every radio station, you can't rest of that song. The music of the 1920s is good and is 1000 billion times better than today's music, maybe specialy if you live in Mexico.

Now it definitely sounds electric - Did Nitto started electrical recording that early? I have a 1926/27 Korean Nitto recording which is definitely an acoustic. Also, I know Nipponophone started electrical recording around 1927 that was thought as a sensational event in Japanese record industry at that time.

12 years late, but I have a Nitto record from 1926 that is electric. Very distorted, it reminds me of the electrical recordings made by Orlando Marsh.
