How nice to wake up to an update from Way Out West! My mother always said the animals talk on Christmas Eve, so perhaps the horses had a little Christmas Party and shared stories while sharing carrots and treats! The year has turned here, too…and yesterday we worked planning how to fill the lengthening days. I’m eager to see the limpet shells transformation! All the Best in 2023 to the TwoFoots & FourFoots at your farm!

Ich habe so über die Pferde lachen müssen, die alles über Nacht umdekoriert haben. Die hatten ja eine wilde Party. Meine Shettys sind auch solche Profis. Vielen lieben Dank! Ja, schon lustig, wie sie dann auch alle wieder rausgeschlichen sind, um mich wie üblich am Tor zu begrüssen, dass ich es auch nicht merke! Wenn da nur nicht das eine Pferdchen gewesen wäre, das ein paar Äpfel gerade vor der Türe hat fallen lassen!!!

G'day, Yay Team ! That scene in the Barn reminds me of "Animal Farm..." written by a bloke named George Orwell, after he'd had his fill of "Socialists" while fighting against "Nationalists" with the "International Brigade" in Spain during the 1930s. In 1948 he published another, somewhat more famous Novel, named "1984", which I first read in 1974... You allude to having been unwell..., I admit to not having followed for a few months (getting over Treatment for Head/Neck/Throat Cancer - Chemo/Radiotherapy for 7 weeks from July to September. Now I'm at least 15 Kg lighter - from starving after they pulled all my Fangs to make way for the Radiation (!)....; but they say the Cancer's gone, the Treatment won, and now my eBike fairly flies up the Hills carrying my new "Featherweight Carcase" all the way up my Driveway to my front Gate ! So, Roundabouts and Swings ! Such is life, Have a good one... Stay safe. :-p Ciao !

Christmas cake traditionally baked here in Ireland as well as Britain around Christmas time - lots of whiskey soaked fruit, molasses, brown sugar, lots of spices...baked slowly to perfection and coated in marzipan and icing sugar!

And Happy New Year to you! I was so glad to see that all is well, I was getting worried. It must be hard for your mom that you can see her only once a year, but it is far away. We have most of our close relatives also far away, I know the feeling. I must say that the horses treating themselves to a feast of their own design really made my day! No, I imagine you don't want to happen it again, but I did think it hilarious. All the best for the new year!

Luckily the horses couldn't harm themselves unintentionally...all feed bins with carb rich food were locked away, that would have been a vet visit for sure, but carrots were ok...and yes, it was funny to see the results of their wanderings!

Had a pipe freeze myself this past winter. Going to let the, drip if it gets that cold next winter. Never happened before. But times, they be a changing.
