My husband and me are living in Pretoria, South Africa . We are listening very often the operas where Veselina Kazarova is singing. We are spending often our evening time listening and watching DVD's of this great Bulgarian opera singer. We don't have words to say BIG APPLAUSE !

Kasarova is truly unique, and wonderous! I'm always amazed when she goes from speaking, to singing in full voice, like it's no big deal!. Especially when she throws off that high C at 4:35 outta no where as if it was as simple as speaking. :)

Hello English-speakers! Since many of you wanted to know what this charming lady is talking about, I decided to make a subtitled version. Here it comes: www.amara.org/de/videos/AyeacF1M58EO/info/vesselina-kasarova-master-class-basel-november-2011/ Go to the link and switch on the subtitles by clicking 'select language', right under the 'play' button. Enjoy! Maybe the poster LyriqueGMK will manage to put the subtitles into the youtube-video itself. Until then, you have to take the slightly more complicated way. :)

+Apariciòn Fernandez - Kaufmann is only four years younger than Kasarova, I guess not. They are both among the finest singers active today, both go way beyond the notes really into the meaning of singing, both incredibly fine musicians. Pity they hardly share any repertoire they would be fantastic together. Maybe in Clemenza di Tito they might sing together I would have expected her to have a deeper speaking voice.

To be honest...the student with beautiful voice is singing more efficient and with more freedom than the masterclassteacher. She really should search for proper auditions and a wise teacher! I am sure the student has intelligence for musical interpretation. She needs a solide technique. Be careful and very awaken!
