My Uncle Bruce, R.I.P., was a person who didn't talk about the war. But one time he talked about what they called hamburger hill, he was there, and one of the few to survive it. He said he hid under dead bodies as they walked through and shot them up to make sure they were dead. He said he was in a trench and turned to his best friend, said something to him, looked back to the front line, turned back to his buddy and his head was gone. Thank you to everyone who has fought for us! GOD bless you all.

@@suzannepatterson307 you missed it because Trace pulled the single after family members of fallen soldiers complained about the song, why ? doesent make sense, the song was honoring the the soldiers, at the time Trace pulled the single it was in the top 20 of country music charts, it was expected to be a easy number one chart hit, but out of respect for the families of the Fallen Soldiers, Trace pulled the song before it had a chance to reach its full potential. There is never anything wrong with crying when you feel you need to. I've got tough farmer guys for dad's and uncles, but none of them said it was wrong to cry. And they showed it when I was a kid and a few of my great uncles who made great impacts on them passed. And even less more recently when the youngest of my uncles passed from cancer 2 days after I graduated from college, and then about a year later my grandpa (their dad) passed at 89, after living through WWII and being stationed at Pearl. They never saw it as a bad thing to cry about these things. Also to you Billy thank you for your service. And God bless.

Just found your channel. First off... Thank you for your service. I've heard this song many times and I'm also in tears each time. I appreciate how you're supporting all of our veterans. I wasn't able to serve but, I have several family members who did serve and some that are still active. On their behalf...thank you for what you are doing. You just gained another subscriber. Much love from Arlington TX.

What gets you isn't the music, the voice or even the instruments. What gets you is the honesty, the heart and the meaning. If only our country could be reminded of this and come together again.
