I picked up my Vevor cooler today from Lowes. It already has an issue. I will push the button for water to start pumping but just as the inside tray fills the button blinks about three times and the pump stops. Thus the pads are not getting water.
@EndWrenchRookie

that's cool. I didn't know that Lowes carried Vevor products. Sounds like your auto safety switch is engaging? It thinks it is out of water. Maybe there is a clogged line? Either way I am sure Lowes will take it back.

I purchased the unit which is simple to use. The colder the water the cooler the air that comes out of the unit which makes sense. But it also makes the air more humid. The video says to have the unit running in a ventilated area but how much ventilation is needed? I placed the unit in my living room which has a ceiling fan to circulate the air and the window was open about 6 inches. If the living room window is to be more open then more hot air would come in which defeats the purpose of cooling the room. I tried to return the unit describing the situation and they said that it is more effective in an open area. This is bunk since their website clearly states it's an indoor/outdoor unit: "VEVOR Evaporative Air Cooler, 3100 CFM, 135° Oscillating Swamp Cooler with Adjustable 3 Speeds and 12 H Timer, 9 Gal Portable Air Cooler for 950 Sq.ft, Indoor/Outdoor Use" and they show an image of the unit in a living room setting. Take my experience as you will but I am still trying to get Vevor to accept the unit back...wish me luck.

I use my unit in the garage. I keep my 2 overhead doors open about 10 inches. I have had swamp coolers in the past which were mounted in windows in my living room and bedrooms. In my experience, I would say that it is important to have an inlet and an outlet of air in your space. One open window will not evacuate the humid air being generated. I would try opening a window on either end of the room / house. Maybe place a fan in front of one of them to either push or pull the air through the house. I am also very lucky to live in a very dry place so a little extra humidity isn't a bad thing. Good luck

I drive a semi truck. I was thinking about putting one of these in my truck to help cool it down. Your thoughts?

I don't know why that would not work. If you have the room and a convenient way to keep water in it.

Does this work in a humid summer heat to cool down from 80 down to 73-ish degrees?
@EndWrenchRookie
@EndWrenchRookie 3 ай бұрын
The more humid, the less effective it seems to work. Plus it will add humidity to the room. I live in the desert in Idaho so it is dry and the extra humidity does not bother me.

if i use this at my condo, will it cause mold from the humidity from it and making the place "wet"?
@EndWrenchRookie
@EndWrenchRookie Ай бұрын
Great question. It all depends on your location and relative humidity. I live in the south west portion of Idaho where it is mostly desert air. If you live on the coast or in a wet environment it will be worse. You can moderate the amount of humidity by how much fresh air you introduce via the open windows. You have to have at least 2 open windows in your home for it to work anyways so you can adjust their amount of air accordingly. Hope this helps. Good luck!

is the humidity produced by the unit, noticeable ?
@EndWrenchRookie
@EndWrenchRookie 28 күн бұрын
It is noticeable. You counter it by introducing more open windows or doors into your room. The more closed your room is the more the humidity will build up.

Where can you put the water in it?
@EndWrenchRookie
@EndWrenchRookie Жыл бұрын
You either open the top lid and pour water in, or you hook up a garden hose to the back and let it automatically fill and maintain its level. Thanks for watching!

AWSOME thanks anywhere on the area to fill it up will work? It won’t damage it at all correct?
@EndWrenchRookie
@EndWrenchRookie Жыл бұрын
@@JohnCisneros-jw8qo Ya, just open the top lid and pour the water into the middle area. water will overflow into the sides and back as it runs so if you spill water into these area it is not a problem. Just keep the water away from the control panel.

Somebody actually oughta do a video where they show us how fast and how much that thing cools down a room and 2° is not gonna make any difference

That would be cool for sure. In my opinion, a portable air conditioning unit would be more "applicable" to the point of how long and how much a room cools off than is one of these portable swamp coolers. With an air conditioner, you close off the room to outside air and then dehumidify the air to remove moisture and built-up heat. Since the room is sealed off from outside air, you could measure the temp drop and its efficiency. With a unit like this, you must have an open air source as in inlet and also an outlet. So you are at the mercy of whatever the ambient outside temp and humidity is. If it is 100 degrees outside, then you are essentially sucking that air into your space. I would look at one of these units as keeping you more comfortable locally with air movement and the introduction of ice / ice cold water. In my case, I use it in my garage. I use it early in the day to stay ahead of the impending heat. The sun that beats down on my garage doors is intense and my aluminum doors reach 130 degrees in the heat of the day. I find that if I place the unit about 10 feet from me in my workspace then the cooling air makes it a lot more comfortable. This unit will not cool the garage, as a whole, in the same manor as a portable air conditioner. It does, however, run at a fraction of the price. Thanks for the comments and thank you for watching!

Normal errors inside the house natural air is outside the house you crack the window you get natural are I will circulate with your swamp fan. If you leave the windows closed it will circulate the rooms air.
