No, there was always 3 criteria for full sized planet classification. They discovered pluto didn't match one of those criteria. It's still a dwarf planet though, just not a full sized planet.

This always bothered me since it sounded just slightly wrong. They made a change the classification system and Pluto does not meet the criteria for a planet anymore, not a scientific discovery.

Sorry but there was a time when Pluto was not considered a planet due to it's size and lack of gravitational pull, midgets are people and were always people as they have a brain and a heart with limbs and opposable thumbs and many more that qualify them as a normal human being so this comparison is quite wrong. Midgets having fingers and toes, arms and legs, a brain and a heart are what qualifies them to be human. Just like Pluto has land, just like all the other planets do, is what qualifies it to be a planet. Size doesn't matter, it's always what's on the inside.
