Something I use to earn time to activate my system 2 is to rephrase what the other has said in a different way. I find this particularly useful when the topic is hard. When you rephrase it, it's not about repeating the other side words but highlighting the main topics mentioned. This allows you to find a pattern that you can act on. It also allows the other side to digest the idea a bit more or make it more specific. As you said, communicating is about connecting simple and powerful concepts, so narrowing the topic helps to filter what's not relevant.

An alternative to um... er.. ah... is to rephrase the question asked. This not only buys time but is also useful to validate whether or not you have understood the question.

This is one of my favorite videos of yours. I love that you’ve broken out how to practically and tactically use frameworks in my role. I’d love to see more examples of how to apply these frameworks to real life situations at work. Thanks for the great content!

You have an amazing ability to explain things in a simple way. These concepts make a lot of sense to me, it was very easy to understand and enjoyable to watch. Being aware of this "system 2" seems like an amazing tool to improve the communication skills

When my system 2 hits me with a “you should’ve said…”, I hit back with “where were you *2 days ago* huh?!” 😂😂 the processing time is getting shorter thankfully 😅 thank you for this model to help speed things up for me

Thank you so much. I am waiting for you to answer this problem so long. I try to solve this problems for long time, but I failed again and again. Once I found your ep about framework long time ago I think this is the solution but I still stuck when I use it in the real world. Your last ep about 1-2-3 seem to work but still have the same problem. This ep seem to be one of the best solution, I will try it. You may be the one who change future too. Proud of you!

I often face this when I power through all the problems in a project or large task and come up with a solution eventually. However I don’t really remember why it took so much time at the end. Then when someone asks why it took so much time. My mind freezes and is unable to find answer. I know there is a genuine reason but in hindsight I myself feel it should have been quicker. Is there a framework I can use to break it down so I won’t freeze on the spot.

Hi Vicky, please take this as constructive criticism-please take time to listen to your voice delivery. You tend to have a lot of glottal stops, which makes you sounds less fluid and more “stuttery”. Vinh Giang has great tips on vocal delivery.
