Michael and Lisa Sanders both have years of experience in owning and handling dogs. So when a friend asked them to take in a rescue dog named Jake, they both jumped at the opportunity. They're not only bad dog owners, they are bad parents as well... Seeing the mom's reaction to her child getting bitten and then telling her husband "she went to pick him up" as if she didn't instruct her to do so was baffling to say the least.

incredibly heartbreaking, you can see how much stress she’s under. she tries to mediate her parent’s petty argument at 2:07 you can tell she’s really trying to put on a brave face and hold things together… no child should have that kind of pressure, especially not put on them by ADULTS. In the future, looking back as adult, I hope she can understand how unfairly she was treated.

@jamiesilver7401
@jamiesilver7401 4 ай бұрын
I think shock collars can be useful in certain situations. My aunt an uncle have a shock collar for their dog because he doesn't have a good recall and will occasionally just refuse to listen because he is a mix of two large and notoriously stubborn breeds (he is trained, and is normally a very good boy, he just really likes eating tea towels, and other fabrics which is obviously dangerous). The collar was tested on my uncle because they wanted to make sure it wasn't actually painful, and is only ever used as a last resort. I don't really agree with using it on small dogs though. It's one thing with a 100lbs+ dog that's just big goofy and stubborn, and entirely another with a 10lbs dog that has severe behavioral issues that it will just make worse.
@flatpigeon9349
@flatpigeon9349 4 ай бұрын
Good use in shock collars and fences are used primarily in larger animals. +100lbs and mostly with +200lbs. Electrical fences are much better for saftey and used for horses, cattle, and zoo animals. A shock collar isn't very great and it's never the animals' fault. Never. If handling large preditors, it is better to use fences, sleep darts, and simular things. If a dog needs a shock collar to listen, that is most likely due to phsycology regarding training vs. instincts. Always remember that all animals have instincts and they don't know how to act unless taught. My friend rescued a wolfdog and yet he is trained. He is outdoors on a long 200ft leash and sleeps in a den he made out of straw yet he knows how to behave even with instincts and a forest for a home. Moral of the story, shock collars aren't because the animal is misbehaving on purpose, they just need grace and training. It is more humane to use an actual fricking tazer than some shock collars becuase of the voltage. Vibration and noise collars are much safer for a houshold dog in training and even bigger animals. Stay safe and be respectful of animals because they deserve to be treated according to their intelect.

Coz it gave him a chance to show off. I was surprised too but he STILL uses the dog as a way to bully his wife. Before it was jealousy that she could calm the dog with treats. Now the trainer has told him to used treats 🤷🏻‍♀️ So he snaps at his wife that she has the wrong treat pouch, making her nervous and forgetful of the next steps in the training, so that he can push past and yet again tell her how she has done it wrong. He's a 💩 !!

Exactly, our Dane snapped and nipped my teenage son once but I totally took the blame on that. When she was a puppy I desensitized her to allow me to do whatever to her (nothing negative, mostly things like touching her paws so I can trim her nails, open her mouth and grab whatever she has gotten, look into her ears, eyes, things the vet may do to her during a visit, etc.) What I forgot to take into consideration is that I trained her to allow ME to do those things so when she snatched a lego one day my teenager went to open her mouth and take it back like he'd seen me do a thousand times and she nipped his arm and drew blood. That was a full wake-up call to start working with her with others as well, but I made it clear to my teenager that if she grabs something to let me know and I will go take it away, and if she swallows it before I get to her, I'd prefer to pay the vet bill to remove it surgically than having to bring him to the ER because a 110 lbs dog mauled him. She's 3 now and doesn't put everything in her mouth anymore, but since then he has gotten me a few times to remove some random object from her mouth (she likes to hide things in those huge jowls of hers and pretend she has nothing in her mouth 😂).

Lisa didn't have the courtesy to tell the show they were going to have another dog there. She knew exactly what she was doing! I see why Michael puts himself in charge. Lisa sits back & does nothing. Jessica & Jake are more together than Lisa & Peter. I thought Michael was too harsh @ the beginning but once he saw there was hope for he & Jake, he tried to reel the situation in. Michael may have been a bit embarrassed the way his family behaved, (not including Jessica.) Jake protected himself the only way he knew how. The little dog didn't get a moments peace. Bless Victoria for standing up for Jake. I think the adults were getting off terrorizing Jake as if it were entertainment for them. Then the dog is blamed for trying to protect himself! I had to try to train them to sit for food and stop barking, while surrounded by the others barking the entire time, and unable to touch them. The reason I couldn't take them outside for walks was because they weren't trained for walks. Just .... trapped. I worry about them, I don't know what happened to them after I left.

It is. It teaches kids that their parents are untrustworthy and can’t be relied upon for comfort. It makes an emotional closed off child, or a child who overstates with strangers because they have so much on their mind, but aren’t able to put towards their parents because, well, “they don’t care” in the child’s eyes.

People should be required to have to take a small course and get certified in basic care, training, etc, before owning a dog. Even just a simple basics class would make a huge difference. It's honestly NOT that hard to learn dog body language and psychology. The issues it can prevent are numerous. And that brother is a COMPLETE TOOL.

Shock collars are absolutely the worst thing. Put one on yourself and see what it is like.

E- collars (not shock collars) are amazing tools when used correctly and the owners are trained properly on how to use it. Also, I have put them on myself before I put them on my dog. It is a static shock. It does not hurt the dog. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions, but do not spread misinformation

@@katiemcdermott300I agree. I have seen one used very well to train a large dog from chasing deer. It worked very well very quickly

As someone who has been bit by a dog that led to 42 stitches in my arm and close to my eye the way they laugh about this is sickening. I did not cause the bite as I was sitting on the couch and all of a sudden he jumped on me for no reason. They do not need a dog.The dog I was bit from was much larger. (an Australian shepherd)

This episode made me straight up cry. I have had two dogs in my lifetime so far, and I love them both so much. (Both have passed away now) and to see this poor little dog so anxious and afraid from constant teasing made my heart just fall into pieces.

These people are infuriating especially Lisa and her brother. Come on Lisa it's not rocket science. If my brother or anyone else treated my pet that way they would not be welcome in my house. Lisa laughing and smiling just made me so mad. Her dog is being abused and everything is a joke to her.

This show just makes me appreciate my dog's 'flaws' (dumping the trash from time to time, not staying in the yard when he knows better, etc.) as they are not nearly as bad as I once thought. I commend Victoria for all of her training and hard work!
