Those kids are what she created them to be. Apparently she wants kids and she wants a dog. But is she able to care for any of them? Nobody else wants the dog so she's not being responsible. The person who wants the dog has to lead.

Indeed and then when he said that it would be over if they just let the god starve and dehydrate and then Barry it really pissed me off the most because I used to have a golden retriever but he died years ago from an allergic reaction to my cat we just thought he was allergic to something else not the cat till it was to late I was devastated it took me 6 years to get over his death to get another dog

There was a home that was pretty upscale on a main road in my hometown that had a dog tied up in the front yard. A big overgrown cocker spanial that was out in all weather. He had worn a circle around the tree. I was a little kid, and it bothered me so much.

People like this are why I say people should have to pass a test and get a license to own a pet... and kids for that matter. Or better yet treat adopting a pet just like you would adopting a child. Do all the classes, paperwork, home checks, background checks. All of it. Make damn sure that animal is going to the right people.

The problem is that theres not enough people or resources to do all these checks, and theres too many animals in the shelters to be extremely picky for every single ones home, i completely agree tho, i hope that happens in the future

I think they are energetic, i know a family who had one & she was a huge trouble maker. Golden Retriever are super friendly, but they do require proper training. Labradors & Golder Retrievers can become a nightmare without proper training.

I completely disagreed with Victoria giving this family another chance, when this poor dog was so mistreated. I have never seen an episode that made me so infuriated with how bad the poor pet was mistreated before. She desperately needed to be rehomed. 😢

I think she was right in giving them a second chance. Chet proved to be a decent human being. People are often too quick to judge others. I trust Victoria's instinct, she genuinely cares for dogs and wants to improve their lives.

@@antoinettenovella1630Exactly Chet was the only one. Despite that he was the most vocal at the start that he disliked the dog he was the one who took the most responsibility for her. He made the mistake many of us humans make. He was resentful towards his family because he didn’t want the responsibility of a dog and he knew his family wouldn’t take care of a dog either. And he was resentful his feelings were overlooked. And Chet seemed to take the frustrations out on the dog. But he realized with Victoria coming in that villianizing the innocent dog because he didn’t want to get attached to her or be angry at his family was wrong. And it was great to see that bond.

I know, right? And at 1:54 Chet calls his dog the R word, which is a derogatory slur towards people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Back then, it was used as a medical term, but now we call them intellectually disabled.

The older they get, the hardest is to train a dog, specially a large one. Golden Retriever are one of the friendlies dog breeds, but they require a lot of training. I do hate when any animal owner have a healthy animal that clearly is neglected & they called their animal "retarder" or "mentally disable", because the neglected or not trained animals doesn't do what they want.

In my experience dogs are nerver set in their ways. I trained our labrador at 10 years old to walk without a leash. Adult dogs and senior dogs are perfectly capable of learning!!

I love how Chet's starting out as the guy who's clearly an issue, and as soon as Victoria shows her muscles and shows that she means freaking business, he's the one who's the most interested and animated of the lot.

The irony of this sad story is that the one that was the most vocal that he didn’t want a dog in the house. Is the only one who took accountability for the poor dog. It didn’t excuse his previous actions and neglect. But he made clear he knew the dog coming around was a bad idea because he knew the wife and kids wouldn’t take care of her. It was actually sweet to see the one most against the dog in the beginning be the one who built the best relationship with her and took care of her after.

@@annepettit3855that’s what i’m saying. the whole family are inadequate pet owners and chet KNEW that going into this. that’s why he was being so detached from the dog (not excusing his behavior at ALL) you could see that he knew his family would end up getting the poor thing killed if someone didn’t intervene. is he a good person? no not really. but out of ALL of them that dog is going to love and trust him the most bc he’s the only one who seems to be CAPABLE of making a real genuine connection with her and the only one that will end up giving a damn about her.

This episode was heartbreaking to me because I encountered this with our family dog. I was a kid. The dog was most bonded to me. Entire family was apathetic about her and pinned her training on me, but I had no idea what was I doing. I was all alone in it. They wanted to get rid of her but she had some biting tendencies, fear aggression, and very obvious pit bull features in her--she'd be put down if she was in the shelter, so I wanted to keep her. I tried to train her. She would listen to me, but no one else tried to learn how to train her so she wouldn't listen to them and they wouldn't listen to me because I was a kid and I didn't know how to voice what I was thinking. She was euthanized. I don't think they knew exactly how much I loved her. But I miss her, and I still feel bitter about losing her every now and then because she was an amazing, sweet dog. It was nice to see Snooki get a chance.

Other issues aside: it bothers me SO MUCH when people try to walk powerful, untrained dogs in flip flops! You need comfortable, safe shoes to keep up with a dog like this; you cant be shuffling down the sidewalk trying to keep your shoes on!

Some parenting might help! I was a permissive parent of one, because I could be and was raised a bit that way. My only big rules were truth and honesty. I told her as a young kid that if she got in trouble or knew she did something wrong that she should come to me to talk about it and that she wouldn't be in trouble with me. However, if I got a call from another parent or the school, or if she lied, she would be in big trouble. Her whole childhood had one minor bus incident and she went against my advice once as a preteen (she told me a decade later), lol. Kids at least want to know you care! So do doggies.

This kids are a nightmare. Sooo pampered with an easy life. The modern life i guess. They have so much weight too. That makes them sluggish, tired. Change diet, everyday to the gym and fresh air. Stop high tech devices. A family plan so every child does stuff in the house EVERY DAY! The dog is NOT IN A GOOD PLACE. THE WHOLE FAMILY HAS TOXIC BEHAVIORAL ISSUES.

I really don't think Victoria should have left the dog in the home. She should have explained that they were clearly in over their heads and helped them get the dog rehomed. Raise your hand if you think the family kept up with this long term. This family is messed up on so many levels. The dog is the least of their problems but also the one suffering the most.

The Trip to the fire department was brilliant. They saw Snooki's potential with training. This may have been a turning point for Chet who is training to be a volunteer fireman. I saw a difference in him watching Micha. Chet is the one who stepped up to train Snooki. He can have a nice relationship with Snooki.

Oh I hated the whole family in this episode so much. No offense, but they seem to have something else dysfunctional going on behind the scenes and the dog is the least of their problems. The man doesn't want a dog, it is difficult to force a pet on someone. A family should sit together, talk about the pros and cons of getting pet and it is essential to be realistic in what it takes to have a pet.

Yes! When not everyone in the family wants to help and put work in a dog, then don’t get one, it’s that simple. There are plenty of other animals like cats that are easier when it comes to training and how much you need to do for them.

I am 13 years old and was blessed last year with my very own German Sherperd puppy Purdy, I paid for her with my own savings and have trained her myself with few tips from family ! I was 12 when I got her, it's such a shame to see people like this not take responsibility for training, feeding, walking etc. Its also gets to me when I'm out with her and adults walk all over me about purdy as they see themselves as higher up as they are older. like if Purdy goes to see them, pulls me on the lead a bit or whatever they can pick on me for they will! its super annoying. I also get people who take the mick by petting her without asking and stuff like that, luckily Purdy is not aggressive and is a fuss-pot but if she wasn't and bit them i could have her took off of me. People seriously need to get a grip and think about their actions. God bless this pup and Victoria, she always does such a wonderful job

That is... amazing. Is she even on your profile picture? She looks very sweet and I'm glad she got an owner like you. I'm an young adult, currently having a 9 week old puppy, and, it's a lot. I can't deny that. But having the commitment with 13 years?? That's amazing. I don't find the words but bless you and your dog and I hope everything goes well for both of you. I hope this is a joke lmao, but for your info: A dog trainer isn't there to train the dog (except for programs like board and train). Dog trainers teach the owners about dog behavior and show them how to train their dog themselves.

Her son bring the dog , because he wanted one without thinking the consequences, like a little brat that he is , but he isn't a little kid, and she allowed it, because she didn't set boundaries. My niece at 3 years old was already feeding their dog (Juno the dog was here first ,then my sister had her daughters) she was taught to take the cup with the exactly amount that Juno eats, from the dog kibble container and put it in her bowl

It's sad but so realistic how this episode plays out. I'm hoping and praying that these people change their behaviors and give that dog a loving home. Really impressed that you took the time to find some root causes to the lack of engagement. I think that was the only way to have any impact. Your patience level is much higher than mine.

This was hard to watch. This family is terrible and dysfunctional. The dog looks so unhappy. I felt for Victoria. In this and another recent US upload, the owners showed so much disrespect and messed with her spirit and energy. Both named their dog after Jersey Shore characters 🙃. I'm glad dad and Joe made changes. They weren't completely irredeemable. Perhaps they were broken. The dad surprised me tbh. I hope the dog lived a happy fulfilled life.

I feel so horrifically bad for poor poor Snooki, she does not deserve this at all When my family got my dog Luna while living abroad (she was a runaway who was never claimed and didn't have a microchip) we all genuinely considered rehoming her on a farm somewhere (NOT THE METAPHORE FOR DEATH WE ACTUALLY WERE TRYING TO FIND A NICE OPEN LARGE PROPERTY WITH A LOVELY COUPLE THAT WE COULD GIVE HER TO) but quickly realized we were too attached to her and we would psycologically damage her so badly if we did considering shed already been abandoned by her previous owner This man makes me ill to think so poorly of his own family member that he would want his own dog to drop dead

When we moved back to my home we brought Luna with us and her anxiety problems improved greatly, we all love her and she has a big yard to run around and chase wild rabbits :3 Though she now has to share the house with my cat, but luckily after getting used to eachother there are no issues ever I made the comparison because both are kinda unruly young dogs who are little escape artists, though my dog ran away a few times living abroad (or TRIED to), I can count on one hand the amount of times shes run away while living back home for over 5 years 0 Not only that but both Snooki and Luna are fantastic dogs! Snooki just needs a little puppy training and tlc from her owners, my dog Loonie Loons (pet name for my pet XD) needed so much love and understanding when she came into our home
