She is so clever and her material is still funny today. I love a wide range of comedy but she is an absolute legend, and manages to make all of her material funny without resorting to insults and swearing.

Still mose so much 7 years!! It was 2016, that was such a year lost so many people left us!

It makes me so happy to see nearly a million people have since discovered this performance since the 80's.

I love this song. "Beat me on the bottom with the woman's weekly" still makes me cry laughing.

To write that is great enough. But to sing it and to play at the same time...possibly the finest 5 mins of comedy.

I haven't heard this song since it was originally aired back in the 80's and I was just a young boy. I had no idea what she was singing about at the time, but the line "beat me on the bottom with a Womans Weekly" has been in my head ever since! What a legend Victoria Wood is; bless her heart. There are 3 people who I absolutely admire and adore for their skills in songwriting (and piano playing) - Victoria Wood, Hugh Laurie and Tom Lehrer. They're just so clever and creative, it's unreal!

When I was little I used to watch Victoria Wood videos all the time with my parents. I knew most of the words to this song for a while, I probably didn't even know what it was about at the time :P

As hilarious as the lyrics are, the two things that strike me about this video are how fake the edited laughter looks, and what an amazingly talented pianist Victoria is. It's a complicated piece with 13 key changes! She's not just doing a steady repeated chord while concentrating on singing. To play and sing that performance simultaneously would have taken more skill and practice than most professional musicians.

My late gran, used to get Woman's Weekly, after hearing this song I never looked at it in the same light again, god bless you gran *grins*
