if you wanna see a one-take watch save me- bts. that was a real one take. the fact that a profesional editor cant notice the small hidden cuts just shows how good of a job the editors did with this mv. also i miss the old logo. i remember whenever i would see it i would get so excited bcuz ITS BTS!

I love that there are multiple costume changes and formation changes that would be impossible to do in one take but the editing is so seamless jordan still thinks its not cut. Props to the MV creators

It's not a one take though, they literally doing match cut to everything if you watch the behind the scenes, but the editor here made a really great job edited the music video so smooth that you will think they shot it in only one take

The two hidden cuts are 1) when J-hope came out in racer suit and 2) when V came out in that grey suit. They were in the group shot before the cut in different clothes. I remember in the behind video they shot it through a whole night until dawn. They really work that hard. Hats off. They deserve everything!

RM's verse explains the meaning of this song. "Giving up on 5? Giving up on 6?" He's referring to subsequent generations giving up on 5 or 6 aspects of society, such as home ownership, having children, getting married, going to college, or getting a well-paying job, because society has made it next to impossible to achieve those things...this is why BTS garnered so much support early on in their career: because they were talking about real issues that Korean citizens were facing in their daily lives.

Quick funny story, JIN was actually like 'hey, I want like a slower choreo, the choreos are stressing me out xD' and was also like literally telling the staff that he would like to have that and next thing they came up with was this xDDD btw 'Save me' was a real one taker I believe

I love this song so much i cosplayed as Jimin from this MV and did the Dope dance at a local comic con near me and i had fun. Also i love how Jimin and Jungkook bounced of eachother, with their voices. Jimin in this MV is why i love a man in uniform, i love Jimins voice and i also love his highnotes aswell but his character is the one i love, this is partly the reason Jimin is my ultimate kpop bias. This song is totally Dope (see what i did there lol)

There's about 4 cuts in the MV: The transition to J-hope after the first chorus is a cut, when other BTS members appear with changed outfits behind RM during the second verse there is a cut there, the transition from RM to V is a cut (He's wearing different clothing and the lighting is different), and the last and only one which Jordon could point out is a cut.

Also, I am very amused by the fact that you, a video editor, were fooled by the transitions (they really are insanely good!). Save Me actually is one-take though. RM's verse "Given up on 3? Given up on 5?" is SO amazingly written. The scene at 5:29 where Namjoon raps, he wasn't actually there rapping with the members dancing, that was a different cut. So you could say that the robot camera did the same movement with the solo rap and then the dancing and merged it together so it created that effect with the transition of Taehyung. I don't particularly remember where and who said it but maybe the behind the scenes of the m/v.

i saw 3 cuts 1. transition to jhope's rap part 2. the part where v turns around behind rm (noticed because of the suit change, prom police suit to tux) 3. the airplane road thingy bangtan has awesome editors, made it really seamless

I think that “Dope” is about Korea itself. Korean people really work hard from morning till evening, also students (they take a really difficult exams to get into universities), they don’t have enough time to rest, that’s also because Koreans are workaholics. It can also apply to BTS (they work hard for ARMYs to make them proud). That’s my theory I could be wrong. :)

There’s an even deeper meaning behind this one. This dual release of “Dope” and “I Need U” is what really blew them up. They had been dissed by other Korean rappers and artists in the industry who were jealous of BTS’ level of talent and dedication. But they kept working hard to get better and prove them wrong. “Dope” is a clapback to those artists who thought that since they got a little success they could just sit back while BTS actually worked hard. Now BTS are the biggest artists to have ever lived and those people who tried to belittle them haven’t achieved even 1/100th of the success BTS have.

When you watch behind for this MV you can see when they made cuts, it was 3 parts 2 cuts? If I'm remember correctly. V in elevator had green screen behind so it looked like it moved. The RM part, when they have the same clothes and come behind him actually was green screan and they put video of members behind RM, so V come from behind green screen in clothes from before (there wasn't any changing ) .... Hmm so you have cut before Jhope part in driver suit and at the end the one you talked about.

Army since 2015. I was a casual fan back when Boy In Luv was released but Dope solidified it. I was obsessed since then, until now nothings changed.

The first hidden cut was right after their first group choreo, when they run across the screen and Hobi appears in that driver/motocross outfit, after having previously been in the scene before in an office outfit! Seriously always amazed by the directing and editing of BTS videos haha.
