This is sure helpful when your AP English Teacher assigns a translated version of the Odyssey to read in two weeks and you haven't been keeping up and you continue to procrastinate until the day before you have to write a short essay in class based on three topics the teacher will reveal on that day and you have to read 200+ pages and still need to watch that night's episode of The Walking Dead. Man, this saved me.

There was also 2 recognition scenes between Odysseus dog, Argus, and his nurse, Eurycleia. When Argus sees Odysseus who's in disguise, the dog still recognises Odysseus. Argus, after finally being reunited with his owner 20 years later, dies from old age. Odysseus sheds a tear. Next, he goes to the palace. Penelope offers him a servent to look after him as part of Xenia, and Odysseus asks specifically for Eurycleia. When Eurycleia pours his bath and bathes him, she remarks how much he reminds her of Odysseus. She then finds a scar on Odysseus' leg, a scar caused by a boar when he was young, and Eurycleia realises who he is. Odysseus has to threaten her to keep his identity a secret so that he can take revenge on the suitors.

We all know the story of the Odyssey but did you know that there's a sequel to the Odyssey called the Telegony? What happens is that after Odysseus leaves Circe to go on his quest, what happened was that Odysseus left Circe with a son named Telegenous. Telegenous was sent by his mother, Circe, to go find his father. Circe gave him a poisonous spear to defend himself. After traveling for a while, Telegenous was forced to dock on shore because of a storm, however he did not know that he was docked in Ithica, the homeplace of his father. And because he didn't know where he was, and that he needed supplies, Telegenous decided to steal some nearby cattle. After seeing somebody stealing his cows, Odysseus ran to face Telegenous and fight him, not knowing thats his son, and after fighting, Telegenous accidentally kills Odysseus with his poisoned spear. After Telegenous knew that he killed his father, He brought his dead body back to Aeaea along with Telemachus and Penelope. Telegenous buries Odysseus on the island and then after that, Penelope decides to marry Telegenous and Telemachus marries Circe.

He didn't kill all of them, the story said he killed the disloyal ones. But still this is greek/roman mythology so a lot of things are harsh.

Because rumors had passed that they said Odyesseus was dead after the Trojan War. Since Odyesseus left, suitors tried to ask Penelope to marry them. But Penelope doesnt like one of them. In order to delay her decision to whom she will pick.Penelope said that she will need to finish weaving for Laertes Shroud Burial.. But 4 years has passed, still Penelope has not yet decided. The suitors angered and still wandering.. Athena instructed Thelemacus to organize a meeting for the suitors.Then he should sail to the kings of the Achaeans and Sparta. King Nestor in Pylos and King Menelaus. Athena warned if one them or two of them denied that his father is dead.He must put a grave and allow his mother marry one of her suitors.But if one told him his alive, he should embark his journey to find his father. Only the king of Sparta Menelaus knew his father was.Menelaus said that his father was trapped on an island and was forced to stay for 8 years.But because of the Zues pity.Athen guided him to return to his homeland. Then recognized the suitors in his house. He was instructed to compete for an arrow contest.The first one to straightly shoot the arrow the the axes arrows will win the heart of Penelope. Odyesseus won, but he started to shoot the suitors and started killing one of them.One of the servants tried to give the weapons to the suitors but they were still no match for the servants and obviously Odyesseus. Then you know the rest that happened...
