I would add that it's better to use a long measurement to scale from than a short one. If you were off by one meter on a 12 meter line, its a difference of 8.25 % but if you are off a meter on a 100 meter line, its only 1 % difference

How do you know if you had true north? I was always told to click the view tab-reset-then click tilt and compass
