Wonderful content guys! I follow this channel because it's one of the main reasons I've decided to make the move to Vietnam in 2020 and it's so great to see you have fun and provide an insightful look into the practicalities and reality of living there 🤗

Really helpful video! good thing to note is this price is between two people so actually really cheap per person for 1 month of living!

Xavier's Leong Way From Home absolutely! It’s also important for anyone wanting to move over to Vietnam and wanting to teach. People are always asking us just how affordable Vietnam is. That’s why we made this video🙏🏻

Thank you for the Vid! For everyone's perspective and difference of opinion, some aspects of living can be way cheaper. -We have a 4 bedroom 3 bath full size house for $210 a month. -Our electric bill generally runs us $18 a month. -our food budget for groceries and eating out is usually around $300 total for the month. About the same as you guys I guess. Ironically eating out in Vietnam can often be cheaper than cooking at home. But if you enjoy cooking then go for it. -traveling by bicycle can be nearly free Now this is only reasonable because I speak fluent Vietnamese and we have a "local lifestyle". Likewise we live in Hue city as opposed to Saigon. This is not possible in an "expat neighborhood" nor downtown of major cities. But for those new to Vietnam an expat neighborhood is often a good choice. So yeah overall for average folks your numbers are still about right. I might ask, would you consider listing the totals on the video description? As it stands you flashed it for 5 seconds only at (9:45) in video. That's cool too but harder to find and refer to. Keep up the great work guys! Perhaps we'll see you around in this beautiful country. Cheers!

Wow, thank you so much for this comment. It gives us a little but more perspective. A “local lifestyle” is definitely a lot cheaper than our “new to HCMC, expat lifestyle”😂. We probably could have cut those expenses down a bit but we enjoyed our time, and that’s all that matters. We’ll definitely consider putting the totals in the description, in the future. Thank you for the suggestion 🙏🏻. We hope you stay safe and healthy in Hue. Cheers!☺️

I'm not sure I could handle the pollution levels and especially the low quality of the food that Vietnam is purported to have. I've heard from people who've lived there for years that it's probably the worst country in SE Asia in terms of food quality. Which is a shame because it looks like a cool place for the most part. This Philippines is supposed to have excellent quality food and must be a great destination but it's not a country in need of English teachers. Probably a good place to be based as a Digi Nomad. How did you find living in Saigon? Was it the plan all along to only stay there for 6 months?

Wdyt of the two South Africans that disappeared in Saigon?
@RhettandClaire
@RhettandClaire 4 жыл бұрын
Kai Hendry it’s very sad. HCMC can be a dark place for people with mental illnesses (we know many people that had mental breakdowns during the time that we were there). Apparently the two South Africans had both been suffering from mental illnesses prior to their disappearances so perhaps it had something to do with that. Who knows? We feel very sad for their families though, it must be such a horrible thing to be going through 💔. What are your thoughts? Have you heard anything lately?

Hey. I am really interested in looking into the building you lived at. It seems more reasonable than others on the market. Would you mind sharing the address. I hope this doesnt sound too personal. Maybe others like it would be good as well.

Hey there, we do a full tour of the apartment and the building in this video: kzfaq.info/get/bejne/h5mVZpqTz9yZlac.html It was in New City in District 2, there’s various buildings and we used an agency called Emperors Key to find it (not sure if they still operate but we presume so). Good luck😁
