for real. i was just traveling through vietnam, riding from saigon to dalat on a little scooter. started to rain so i pulled into a stall/restaurant for a couple beers to wait out the rain. some old men were sitting there and insisted i eat some of their food and drink with them. i asked if there are any hotels nearby, they said "absolutely not, but you can stay at my house". ended up following this old man through an empty farmer's field to a house. he showed me to a room that had a bathroom and everything, let me stay the night for free. refused to accept any payment. just such generous people.

It was definitely not a VIP sleeper cabin . I think the lady at the booking-desk already told you that . The guy at the train restaurant said twenty five for the beer and you understood thirty five . Actually German is Duc ( Deutsch - in only one word ) not Duc Duc ( double words ) . Germany ( Deutschland ) is Nuoc Duc ( Nuoc in this context means country , not water ) . The South Vietnamese call corn Bap and the North Vietnamese call it Ngo . The Vietnamese travellers are sometimes very noisy (especially when they get drunk) but always very warm and friendly . That could bother and disturb the foreigners who are not familiar to the local culture and habits. Hope you didn't have any issue with that . Keep well and welcome to Saigon .

As a devoted follower of your work, I found immense pleasure in this episode. Vietnam has held a special allure for me, given my father's service as a United States Marine during the war. Your perspective has only intensified my desire to visit. Thank you, and may your travels be safe, Mr. Caz.

@@lexuanson1616 I had a best friend who was Vietnamese, she came here with her family when she was a little girl. Her entire family was so loving, treated my daughter, son & I like we were family & the entire community of Versailles in New Orleans. Love y'all's food, karaoke & drinking. Saluté friend 🥰🥰🥰🥂 Hang Tran, she passed away 6.27.04 🕊️
