It's not rude. It's cultural stuffs. You need to learn cultures of the countries in your travelling plan. Most Vietnamese are nervous at passport controlled gates. I have same anxiety at VN airports. At the border of Czech and Bosnia, my tour guide told us to keep quiet, not joking, talking b/c the immigration officers take things seriously. Don't expect locals speak English. You two were adventurous. I would never go independently to non English speaking countries :)

Everywhere in this planet there are good and bad people. Everywhere, period!

@@bhan1295 This one actually broke down and was beyond repair, but we had another before that we got in Vietnam that we then sold in Cambodia

nope, we never had any problems in the 2 years we were in Laos or when we crossed the border.

Hello, we didn't pay anything for the bike, we only paid for the Laos visa, maybe if they wanted to ask you for money as a bribe they could, but no one asked about our bike, hope this helps!

Thanks for watching :) we stayed in the Plei Can area in Vietnam beforehand and drove to Attapeu in Laos on the other side. There was lots of petrol stations before the border crossing but afterwards you're driving through just jungle for a while so it's better to fill up beforehand!

@@TravelsonToast did the same border crossing but the other way around, also with vietnamese plate :-) the jungle ride and the dirt road after attapeu (on the way to Don Det) was a wild trip :-)

we are from England where everyone is very polite so it is strange for us when they do that! But all countries have different social norms so maybe it is accepted here

Travels on Toast The Vietnamese in Vietnam and Mainland China are very rude like that. They push there way to where they want to go and just don’t car about being polite. I can not stand their rudeness 😡😡😡
