This guy's post service career is impressive. That he made E-5 in the Navy in 18 months is also impressive. Took me 3 yrs and I got a Ho Chi Minh (no exam) while in-country. ;-) An all around stellar individual. His ethical disposition is becoming more and more rare in our world today.

Isn't the world getting more ethical? More equality? Less crime? I have to disagree with that last point you made

Gary Burrow was a joy to listen to his experiences and his stories. From start to finish he took skills he came to the Navy with and fine tuned them while learning new ones. I'd say the Navy his shipmates and all of us here watching these interviews have benefited from Gary's service. Welcome Home sailor.

Thanks for sharing your experience Gary. Sea duty is dangerous and hard work especially when in the gator navy on an old LST! Then cruising from Danang and up the CUA Viet river with mines and ambushes ! Respect !

You close your eyes and you'd swear you're listening to Sam Kinison . Even his laugh. Very interesting to hear a US Navy perspective. USAF 66-70 Tactical Air Command Weapons and munitions specialist I went through the L.A. induction center the same time he did.
