This is the best rock instrumental I have heard in 50 years or so. And I've been following rock since the late 1950's.

That was intense and intricate, crazy talent.

For the last 4+ years I have wondered why BAND-MAID isn't bigger....HUGE, even. One of the mysteries of the universe.

You won't find a better Hard Rock band out there today that will engage and assault you at the same time. Always love to see new people enjoying Band-Maid. They are an unbelievable band; it's criminal they aren't more popular. Check out Dice, Day Dreaming, and their new songs Corallium, Hibana and Sense.

They've toured worldwide including the US. They had signed with Live Nation for an even bigger tour when Covid hit. So instead of touring they released even more music that's more progressive, faster and harder than ever. You're gonna get a ton of suggestions and they're all great. But Domination Live is one of their best live videos. Their latest MV is for "Sense" which is beyond awesome (and not even one of their top ten songs). I heartedly recommend "Manners/Black Hole" live, a 2-in-1 live video that shows both sides of Band-Maid. They also go hard in the "Warning" mv. Just don't wait too long because they keep coming out with new music. And you can sure bet they will be coming back to the US and elsewhere around the world as soon as they can.

I’d also recommend the dual video of “Manners” & “Black Hole” live… 2 very different songs from their newest album. One is a rock anthem, the other a prog-rock gem!

So Onset was created to showcase each of the ladies talents on their instruments. That's why each and every one of them has a spotlight mark of them. I'd suggest the following Band Maid songs: No God, Manners, Dice, Bubble, Warning (live) & Domination (live) 'How are they not more popular?' - Been asking that for about 2 years now (after I 1st discovered them)!

Why are they not more popular? Because western radio channels will almost never air none english music. But they are a LOT more known internationally now than they used to be. They have toured the west multiple times, won some awards in the west, and gained major popularity online. They were about to play the largest venue in Japan just before covid hit and canceled it- but since then have released an amazing new album and more great songs! So im positive they will only get more and more well known.

Really cool reaction! YES, Band-Maid is different, because they are making music that is missing these days. They don´t care about genres, you can find Jazz, Punk, Rock, Metal, Blues and Pop in their music and Kanami (lead guitar) is a songwriting GENIUS! They work together as a unit, they are really close friends, loving their community and fans, are AWESOME characters and for me personally if you consider ALL points that makes a band GREAT, they are the best rockband out there. Chemistry, Workrate, Musicianship, Showmanship and LYRICS! I don´t speak japanese, i am learning this language just because of them, because the lyrics are totally worth it! They have 120+ songs in their catalogue after round about 8 years and there are no songs that are boring or not good, every single song is at least very good! And some songs have so many changes, different riffs, ideas and creativity in it, other bands would be lazy and would create 3-4 songs out of it, not Band-Maid, they mash it into ONE song and it sounds AMAZING! Great reaction guys! Band-Maid has a never-ending supply of kick ass songs, Onset is just one of many. Their hottest release at the moment is their newest single "Sense". A very popular song and for good reasons, because it is major kick ass. Oh, the "Sense" single has two B-sides, Hibana and Corellium. The reason why I mention that, is because they are arguably even more amazing. Band-Maid has no throwaway songs.

Hey guys, in 2019 the maids did a 5 sold-out concerts in 3 US cities...2 night in NYC,, 1 night in Dalls, and 2 nights in LA...I personally attended both shows in NYC and they were amazing on stage...keep doing more Band-Maid..I suggest the following "Play", " Moritorium", "Dice", "Domination", "Yolo","Different","Wonderland","Manners","Warning","No God","Blackhole", or any of their videos on their KZfaq channel or any (and I mean any) of their songs on streaming services...you will not regret it.....thanks - Peace and Respect from 🇨🇦

🤘on the reaction. "Thrill" was my introduction to BAND-MAID. KZfaq kept suggesting it and I thought "Maids? Really KZfaq? Go home you're drunk" well KZfaq insisted so I clicked. WTF? Not what I expected, I checked out a few other songs then went on my way pursuing Nightwish's music at the time. A few months later KZfaq suggested "onset", it had just been uploaded. I thought "Oh, yeah they are cool" so I watched it. Same reaction as you three. I immediately listened to everything I could find and have been a fan ever since. To get a pretty good feel for what BAND-MAID can do I would suggest the double song live video of "Manners" and "BLACK HOLE" on their official channel. Manners is a bluesy "classic rock" style song with BAND-MAID spice. It is amongst my all time favorite rock songs. "BLACK HOLE" is a 220 bpm sonic instrumentation assault and vocal goodness with layers of harmonies and counter melodies. "BLACK HOLE" was my favorite BAND-MAID song until their song "Corallium" from their new single "Sense" nudged it from the #1 spot. The three songs in the single are bangers! I have listened to their catalog of music many tines, and there is not one song that I would skip. All their songs range from good to "HOLY SH*T what just happened"?

Many reccomend live version of Domination, Freedom and Play as taste what they can do live and I totaly agree. There you can see how skilled they truly are. Tbh BAND-MAID is one of the best things who hapened to me in years. Suddenly I start to belive in good music again!

My college soundtrack was the great late 70's fusion bands. They were far beyond most rock bands in skill, creativity, and energy. Band-Maid are one of the few bands since that era that can go toe-to-toe with those groups. Thanks for coming back to them and going for it.

The Maids have straight-up stated many times that their goal is "World Domination," and while the pandemic hit pause on that (sadly - I only discovered them in mid-2020, so I too have yet to see them live) it's nice to see videos like this one give hope that that goal is still very possible! And let me add one more vote to the many in these comments for "Blooming" as the quintessential, pinnacle BAND-MAID track. 🤘

I really enjoyed your reaction. Your right, this band should be more well known. They are great musicians who are dedicated and passionate. They love their fans and you can see and feel it during their live performances. So many songs to choose from, but I recommend Domination live from the World Domination tour 2020. Tip of the iceberg guys! You will be blown away time after time by these serious musicians. They are very diverse, jazz, punk, funk, blues, grunge, instrumentals and some gorgeous heartfelt power ballads! Try Daydreaming, About Us, Play, Rinne, Real Existence ..... damn, too many to mention, just watch them all. At 67 years of age, I have always found with even my most favourite artists, usually at least 1 or 2 songs on most albums that i wasn't impressed with. I have yet to find a song from these ladies that does not speak to me! Cheers and thanks from Australia!

Sadly, this track is one of only two or three not on Spotify. There is a studio version, but it was a bonus track on one of their single releases. It's great, but there is something magical about the live version.

Every time Misa does a bass solo the crowd always roars and Kanami on lead is so skilled, the Maids are so talented, they are saving ROCK !!!!!!

Also, there is the song called "Play" that follows this at this same concert... Actually the song "Play" was originally their onset... But Saiki (lead singer) liked it so much she convinced Miku (rhythm guitar) to put words to it because she wanted to sing it. So, the original onset became the song called "Play"... so Kanami (lead guitar) composed this to be their new onset.

I saw them live twice on their 2022 US Tour, once in NYC and once in New Jersey and they were on FIRE. The did onset at both shows and it was amazing to hear it live. Of course you don't get the polished feel of the live video, but it was exactly the same live as on the video.

Great reaction. Just the tip of the iceberg for Band-Maid. My suggestion for your next reaction would be the LIVE version of DOMINATION to give you guys a real good feel for all 5 members' awesome stage presence and crowd interaction in a large venue. The LIVE version of PLAY is great for the great call and response between the bass and guitars as well as between the two vocalists.

Thrill was their first music video, essentially what got them started, Onset is just what they play when Saiki the singer needs a break. There is a ton in their catalog that are just amazing. They did tour a bit before Covid, hopefully they'll be back at it soon enough.

FYI, since the pandemic hit, Band-Maid has been pretty regularly streaming live no-audience shows from Tokyo that you can watch in real time. They're a bit early in the AM in your time zone, but you guys are probably at the age where you'd be up that late anyway. It's not a perfect substitute for being there, but in the current environment we have to take what we can get.

Great reaction. The girls popularity to the general population is often a topic of discussion amongst the fans. Some say it is the fact they sing in Japanese, personally I believe it is the simple fact that there is no profit in it for radio stations, they will only play what they are paid to play. Many fans have sent request in to radio staions on dedicated request shows and no Band Maid song has been played, I would imagine every request is vetted first to ensure it comples with the record companies list of songs allowed. I hope you continue to react to Band Maid and I would suggest 'Warning' official music video next for you. It is the lead track off their latest album 'Unseen World' Keep rocking !!

As so many have already said on this channel, you do not know what kind of trapdoor you have opened under your feet! This is not just freestyle jamming. Kanami composed it I believe, and Akane on drums really sets the tone, along with Misa on bass and Miku just amazes every time we see her as she has advanced her technique and has become quite a good guitarist.

I won’t even bother singing their praises as we all know that you guys will be spending the better part of a couple of months going through their catalog and will not find one single average song , don’t ask for suggestions just pick any song and you’re good to go , best rock band in the world .

BTW to be fair, Thrill is from 2014 and this performance was 2020. But it was written a few years before. They have come a long way fast. It's like they double their skill every year. One of the things I love about them is that, they have said in interviews, they actively challenge themselves to get better. Kanami (lead guitar, composer) can be a taskmaster lol. But each of them are the same on themselves. They are really interesting IRL too. Quirky as most geniuses are. Their interviews are pretty fun. Miku (rhythm guitar, lyrics, founder) is a great song writer and was just learning how to play guitar at the time of Thrill! That's just amazing to me.

Its kinda sad...2020 they were poised to Dominate the World Rock Scene with their World Tour.... So we are all on hold to see if World Wide Touring will ever fully recover. The Loss of Momentum was a hard blow. But Band Maid is still in the Mix and we will just see what happens next!! Hardest Rock'n Maid Band in the World Baby!! Put your Kitsune Up!! Po!
