That and a DC3 are your go-to's? Those are travel stones at best. Get a decent bench stone. You'll easily make 90% of your sharpening jobs 1000% easier. Grit progression and having access to the qualities of different stone types for use with different steels can also be your friend. If you like stuff like the Jasper stone, try doing a search for a few names. Belgian Coticule, Translucent or Surgical Black Arkansas stones. There's also a lot of fine natural green stones coming out of China that have a similar feel and high hardness.

interesting. i always like when YT recommends me smaller channels. anyway i got a question. im not sure, but im guessing since it's jasper, the different bands of color might have slightly different hardness. would that make these stones higher maintenence i.e. they would wear unevenly?
