Ingredients for beef stew
Beef - 1 kg
Potatoes - 2 nos
Carrots - 2 nos
Chopped onion - 2 nos
Green chilli - 3 or 4 nos
Garlic - 11 to 12 nosnos
gInger - 1 nos
Grated coconut - 2 cup
Pepper powder - 1 1/2 tbsp
Garam masala - 1 tbsp
Fennel seed- 1 1/2 tbsp
Cardamom - 2 or 3 nos
Cinnamon - 1 or 2 nos
Cloves - 2 or 3 tbsp
Salt - 1 or 2 tbsp
Oil - 3 or 4 nos
Method
Heat a pan with clean beef ,pepper powder and salt .
Mix them well and add water .
Cover and cook them well.
Take a bowl add grated coconut and water .
Squeeze them well and drain fresh thick coconut milk and set them aside.
Again we add water to the squeezed coconut mix .
Then mix them well and drain the thin coconut milk and set aside.
Ones the beef is well cooked remove from fire and set aside.
Heat oil in a mud pot add cinnamon ,cardamom and cloves
Then add onion and green chilli ,sauté them well.
Then add chopped ginger and garlic ,sauté for few seconds
Then sprinkle some salt and sauté them well.
Then add curry leaves and sauté them well.
Then add chopped potatoes and chopped carrot
Then add crushed fennel seed and mix them well.
Then add cooked beef and thin coconut milk ,combine them well.
Cover and cook them well.
Then add garam masala and pepper powder mix them well.
Then add fresh coconut milk and stir them well.
Cook for some minutes.
Remove from fire and set aside.
Ingredients for idiyappam
Rice flour - 2 cup
Grated coconut - 1 cup
Hot water - 1 or 2 cups
Method
Heat water in pan then add some salt and boil them well.
Then heat water in a steamer .
Take a pan add rice flour and boiled water and mix them well till they become moist and set aside
Then we have to take idli plates and Sprinkle some grated coconut into the idli plates.
Now add some dough into the mould and press the idiyappam into circle shape onto the idli plates
Then placed the idiyappam into the steamer .
Cover and cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
Ones it is ready remove the idiyappam into the steamer and set aside.
Serve and enjoy the idiyappam with beef stew ..
