All the way from the vegetable plot digging out fresh taro tubers, a quick wash at the swift flowing stream. Taro, carrot and pumpkin and fish stuffed pies, and cabbage rolls, pounded roasted taro and jackfruit seeds sweets balls all for tea. I kept awake to watch in awe. I love everything you made, although never tasted jackfruit seeds nor that white root, but the way you prepare them is amazing. I am sure that taste is wonderful. Toasted mature jack fruit seeds taste so much similar to roasted chestnuts. . Boiled jack fruit flesh is like boiled potatoes but has soft fiber, more thickness and is chewy. . Ripe jack fruit is very sweet . Tastes a little bit like cantaloupe but is grainy and juicy more chewy with a different aroma. Tender jack fruit is cooked as a curry looks like meat curry. It is also used in vegan diets to imitate pulled pork. Jack fruit trees make excellent ever lasting hard lumber for furniture and home building.. Jack fruit roots are a bright yellow and used as home made yellow dye for robes of Buddhist monks in the past. Tender Jack fruit leaves are chopped and eaten like a salad sautéed slightly mixed with onions, pepper, grated fresh coconut turmeric and other spices and eaten with rice, bread etc. Mature leaves are boiled and the water is used as a tea to treat hyperglycemia. and given to goats and cows to produce good milk.
