Ville Valo talks us through the making of his new solo album 'Neon Noir', set for release on January 13, 2023 via Heartagram Records. He tells us about writing process behind the single 'Loveletting', his biggest inspirations and choosing that record title. Plus, we reflect on HIM's 'Love Metal' 20 years on and look forward to his live dates including his appearance at Download Festival and Sick New World.

Ville Valo has and always will be one of my favorite people in this universe. He's an incredibly talented, beautiful soul that this world should protect at all costs because this man is an absolute gem. His music has forever changed my life and I look forward to all the new things he does. I still have every H.I.M. album and listen everyday, it's just something that gives me such a nostalgic, peaceful and complete feeling.. 😌💜

I can only listen to HIM a few times a year. It’s such a euphoric thing for me I dunno can’t explain it. I feel a lot. I cherish the moments when listening

Oh lord, what do you mean? Sobriety makes people look different, he is not a bloated drunk anymore. He has also aged, lost weight and got his teeth fixed due to bruxism, and all the nicotine and alcohol and puking that were leaving a toll on them. So actually it's more a health issue than a cosmetic thing. I don't see anything else but natural changes by aging and taking care of his health. 🙄🤦🏻‍♀️
