When I was a kid I bought a bootleg 32-in-1 gameboy colour cart on holiday for about $10 that had all sorts of weird bootleg versions of original gameboy games on it, except the first game was just the real version of Pokemon Pinball, back when that game was pretty much new. I got Pokemon Pinball for less than half the retail price because I bought some random bootleg cart with my holiday spending money.

This is because it is one of the worst offenders of Guide Dang It (especially compared to the more intuitive PC versions.) You see, you're not supposed to fight the enemies yourself. You're the leader! If you die, the war is lost. Problem is, it's basically completely random who wins in a fight. Soooo you're supposed to recruit soldiers (who are hiding in the trees and bushes and stuff) and let them do all your fighting for you. If you make it all the way to the enemy king and kill him, then you win. The superior PC version of Bokosuka Wars was actually highly influential in the development of Japan's "simulation RPG" genre, which we in the west call a tactical RPG, and was considered a huge success at the time. Nobody has any clue what the fuck "bokosuka" means. The Japanese name is entirely in katakana: ボコスカウォーズ

Run starts at 2:03:56. This was a fun run! Many clutch moments and some very clever high level gameplay from runner Jobels. Not much room for improvement in all honesty, this is about as good as they get.

Say what you will about these chinese bootlegs, but they made up a good portion of my childhood. Too poor to afford a proper console? Just pay 30 bucks and you can play Contra, Super Mario, Kung Fu, Duck Hunt, Spy vs Spy, and a several dozen games that I don't know the names of too this day, some of which were actually pretty good and I wish i could play again.

The NES sound is nice, but it also slowly destroyed the contacts on NES cartridges. Innovative, but perhaps a little before it's time.
