I have to admit- i dropped Kiss after listening to Unmasked after bringing it home. After the 2nd play, i frisbeed it into the basement wall and watched it shatter into a hundred shards of shit. i was done with Kiss from then, until '96. Although i like a single or 2 during the 80s, their videos were so laughable, we kinda played Mystery Science Theatre with them. After hearing Vinnie bare his Soul, be so Humble, Gracious and Appreciative of the Love he was receiving, and yes, hearing him play and sing- then with Robert Fleischman? Wow, i have a respect for Vinnie that i never knew i had. Please feel free to disagree, individual taste and all out own subjectivity is what makes us individuals, not enemies. :)

I have SO much respect for him after this! He did not speak ill of any member of KISS, even though... you all know as well as I do.. he was on the bottom of the KISS 'totem' pole, so yea.. he got some BS thrown at him! It's the truth, and I'm a KISS fan. This guy already had my respect for just being a member of KISS, but he proved just how awesome he truly is. Life moves on.. he's made his peace. Vinnie is just AWESOME!

I shut the door on kiss for a long time after ace left, and never gave Vincent a chance or a listen as those days I was driving into thrash, and more underground metal but this really turned me around today, glad to see him still playing and seems far more genuine and humble than expected. Life's too short for bullshittery. Very uplifting video, thanks Vinnie and hope to see you back at it.

There are a few different versions of this performance I've seen, shot by different cameras. But each one leaves me with the same, sad, feeling of Vincent's talent being wasted. Not as a shit hot metal guitar player, but as a song writer. That was his real talent. Alas, he seems to be his own worst enemy. God's speed to you Vinnie.

This was so wonderful. Thanks so much for posting this. I think VV is under-rated as a songwriter, especially in his contributions to KISS; I would just as soon hear the song's essence without all the old flashy fast guitar-playing. His voice was surprisingly good. He could probably currently sing Paul's parts for Kiss....But, man, I wish he would stop talking about lawyer stories and asking for a shout-out to his lawyer. I'm a lawyer by trade, and I'm saying for VV's public image he needs to disassociate himself from any litigation, which has consumed most of his life.
@strtngfrsh
@strtngfrsh 6 жыл бұрын
Agreed on the lawyer comments and as for Paul anyone could out sing him currently, it makes me sad everytime I hear him and remember how good he was.
@timm441

It seems a HUGE part of Vinnie's association with KISS was legal issues. Ok so Gene and Paul didn't get along with him personally, then why keep bringing him back into the picture? But he did a lot of great things for KISS during his short time, but then along comes all the legal BS for whatever reasons. I would believe he brought much of it on himself, but from what I do know about Gene and Paul, I can believe they screwed him over every chance they got. So the fans are left wondering. Why can't they just all let it be in the past simply for the sake of letting the fans enjoy some of the good times for KISS. Afterall we got some pretty damn good music out of it.

Thanks for sharing this Mike, the return of Vinnie after decades of the whole world not knowing very little of where, what or even if he was still with us, his return here, has to be the biggest thing to have ever happened in history of hard rock/metal, nothing comes close to this! Thank God, Vinnie's still with us and looking to share his gift again with those who want to listen, and the many fans who still love him, give Vinnie his dues, he is a musical genius, and unfortunately a target for so many haters in the past, we are blessed by these interview/guest appearances and hearing his side after all these year's. The moment Rob lays his head on Vinnie's shoulder during Back On The Streets, Vinnie's eyes filled up and he has to try and hold back the tears, this is the most amazing touching moment I've ever seen in music, as the sincerity and love between these two musicians brought a year to my eye. In God's time, not man's time, will situations truly come to pass and God's time is always the right time, hard rock has been blessed by Vinnie and his music all these years, and more blessings to come our way in the future... With God's help, Vinnie has endured and came out of the land of Baca... The following scripture is for Vinnie... Psalm 84 (King James Version) 1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord: my heart and my flesh crieth out for the living God. 3 Yea, the sparrow hath found an house, and the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young, even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God. 4 Blessed are they that dwell in thy house: they will be still praising thee. Selah. (see below) 5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; in whose heart are the ways of them. 6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well; the rain also filleth the pools. 7 They go from strength to strength, every one of them in Zion appeareth before God. 8 O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer: give ear, O God of Jacob. Selah. 9 Behold, O God our shield, and look upon the face of thine anointed. 10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly. 12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee. Selah has many meanings, some are still, quiet, calm, peace and musical direction.

Vinnie plays pretty jazzy guitar chords under "a million to one"... I had to listen several times to it to rekognize the song....but it's an interesting version... it shows, what he is able to do musically

Open Roader can I just say I am INSANELY JEALOUS and I hate you. Kidding, sorta...I actually am insanely jealous. If I had a TARDIS I’d totally go back in time to see VVI.

It was Twisted Sister for Long Beach Arena on Powerslave. Vinnie was with Maiden along with Warrior in San Bernardino For Somewhere in time. I obviously saw both shows, still got the stubs. Less than 20 bucks for both of them.
