Always glad to hear you two getting to chat. I just wanted to mention on the music theory discussion. It’s a really common misconception that music theory is some kind of set of rules or guidelines for music and how it “should be”. Speaking as a music student myself, it’s really just a set of observations made about a very specific set of western compositions over the last couple hundred years. It’s valuable as a toolbox for learning to emulate existing patterns, and I think it is growing more diverse as new styles are taken on their own terms as a technical study, but “going by feel” is never, and has never been less valuable or legitimate than using theory. Theory is helpful if you don’t have any ideas, but if you don’t have the right feeling, then you’re not gonna have anything great to begin with. Hope you two keep doing what makes you happy

I HAVE FINALLY FINISHED MY THOUGHTS THIS IS NOT A DRILL I HAVE FINALLY DONE IT About math rock, it's a genre I thought was a meme but it's real and it's honestly really cool. It's messy and intricate at the same time and it's weird and I love it. Feed Me Jack and Don Caballero are really good. I can probably dig up some more if ur interested, but it's def a genre that can be seen as stupid and pretentious and it definitely isn't for everyone. I love Noel's music more than Liam's funnily enough. I love Oasis though, guilty pleasure. I'll listen to Noel Ghallager's High Flying Birds tho and I'll want to listen to his entire discography idk how is music does that for me I just really like it and idk why. I don't think id have the guts to watch jackass. I am such a pussy and seeing people get injured just makes me scared LOL. I'm also squeemish. You know the one scene from Dead Alive where a pimple pops and the juices go into some pudding and a dude didnt see it and puts his spoon in and eats it? I watched Dead Alive on a scum session that Vin did and I'll be honest I've never been closer to puking because of a film. Even WRITING THAT OUT made me feel nauseous. Fucking disgusting. And I know that shit like that is in Jackass and WORSE, and I don't think I'd be able to stomach it. Maybe one day but idk. LOL. I STILL HAVE NOT WATCHED SPIDERMAN, because I havent seen the Sam Rami movies and Im like "damn i should watch those first" BUT I CANT SIT MY ASS DOWN. Im disgusted with myself and aaaaaaaaargh. Im just so bad at sitting down and watching films or tv. I also havent watched the star wars prequels because i watched New Hope, Empire Strikes Back (the best one), and Return of the Jedi and never watched the prequals and I asked my dad if I should watch the prequals and he went "no." AND SO I NEVER DID. Idk maybe I might watch them someday but I might need some folks to watch them. The Force Awakens was great in the theater and it was so cool to see a new star wars, but looking back it was an alright film. Last Jedi was shit tho and I didnt even watch Rise of Skywalker because I just DIDNT CARE. I was so done lol. George Lucas needs to put down is salad haha. I need to watch breaking bad. again i have a hard time watching shows. i might get addicted tho and binge it like crazy. i need to understand the breaking bad memes. i REQUIRE it. I honestly liked Korra when I watched it. I watched avatar the last airbender and watched korra came out and i really liked it. i think the writing was pretty good, though corny at a couple times. otherwise very good and i liked how they handled a lot of issues. Funny bing bing wahoo man. I love the mario man. I feel like the mario super show mario and luigi are my favorite because i love them a lot and i love the Brooklyn accent and the good ol italian new york-ness. charles martinet tho really made mario and luigi. they make me happy. they are the funnies. maybe we can all be marios in the new into the marioverse movie. My Nintendo is bad and i have never gotten anything i purchased on my nintendo which is super cool and I didnt know club nintendo existed until it was gone and i missed out on so much stuff. super disappointing. nintendo blows and they paywall everything unless you live in japan then if ur in japan u get all the cool stuff and everyone else can go fuck themselves. literally every custom item for splatoon for example. nintendo hates fans, but ESPECIALLY the fans outside of japan. I'm excited to see what you have to say about skyward sword. I never finished skyward. I did the first dungeon and got lost and frustrated and i just gave up and never came back to it, and maybe for the best because if i dealt with it and learned how much backtracking there is i would probably not like it even more. its a game thats more fun to watch than play imo. If you do a metroid video id also love to see that. i love to see what u make cuz ur videos always leave me feeling like i learned something new or feeling something new about a certain media. The whole convo with viewer numbers and stuff vin had is a good conversation. i feel like after a certain time you just get so wrapped up in the numbers and wanting to top yourself it just gets not fun anymore. it's why i just dropped that and im just happy i get to know the people that i know and be as known as i am and i can just play what games i want and draw what i want and still be happy because getting thrown into a "topping yourself" loop it makes streaming or making videos or drawing WHATEVER not fun anymore, because you might start the thing just doing it for yourself but lose that along the way, and its def about grabbing that initial ambition again. do what you like. if you wanna play bloodborne and ur having a hard time with it but still having fun play bloodborne. ur not wasting anyones time, and thats something i have to tell myself as well even still. people will stick with you through thick and thin no matter what your doing. Im glad that you like blade runner! its one of my favorites along with 2049, though i like the original blade runner movie. the atmosphere, the pacing, harrison ford, all that stuff i love. it was one of those movies that i was like "i will like this movie i know its slow but i know i will like it" and i watched it and i LOVED it, and then i watched it again with vins commentary. its an amazing movie and im glad you liked it. i also suffer with quite a bit of depression and existentialism because i do a lot of thinking, almost too much. i feel very closely with what he was talking about. i think thats why blade runner struck such a chord with me. roy batty's speech for some reason didnt hit me the first time, but during the rewatch with vinnys commentary through vinnys stupid jokes i was crying really really hard because it just hit me like no other. blade runner 2049 also got me very hard in the feels and i always like when movies and media can do that kind of thing for me. being human and everyone being human no matter what is something i think about a lot and a lot of people forget. guess like... how folks think "famous people" or "content creators" are more then people when that really isnt the case. i never talk to people or want to talk to people because of fame or whatever, but because i feel like i can get along with these people and make good and long lasting friendships. keeping in mind everyone, no matter who they are, how popular, how underground, are all human, and its something i pride myself with knowing the difference because a lot of people cant. ill know is my favorite on visions because it makes me saaaaaad. i love songs that make me sad and that song really really resonated with me. i wont go into it because its kind of deeply personal but it struck just the right chord and i feel like with every red vox album theres always a song that does that, like on realign, far away did that for me. ive been listening to visions a lot though and its i think my favorite red vox album so far. its one of my favorite sounding albums and one of the albums that personally means a lot to me with its lyrics and songs. it was really cool hearing some behind the scenes on temple and songs from visions. i love melody. i love the feel. i love feeling music. its why in rainbows by radiohead is my favorite album of all time. because i can listen to it with whatever emotion im feeling and it emphasizes those feelings in no way any other album has ever done for me. it has made me feel happy and angry and excited and very depressed. its beautiful, its ethereal, and it means something i could never describe into words no matter how hard i try. that feel, that emotion, is what makes red vox so special to me, because every album has a feel to it. i can feel the emotion behind it no matter what the albums mean to me personally. all the love put into those albums seep into my feelings for those albums and i love it. both you and vinny are really fuckin cool people. one day i would like to talk to both of yall like this because i personally think id get along well with both of you guys. you two are both very nice and very talented, and i wish the best for both you and vinny for the future. keep up the good work.

What a great upload. They just bounce off each other in a podcasty fashion, but there is so much politeness and mutual engagement that any of the tangents they go on feel easy to follow. Two very different cretors with vaguely similar backgrounds babble about their interests. This leaves me wanting more, even if it comes months later

It feels so weird to think about the Legend of Korra, because it feels like it was so long ago that I watched the first episode while sitting on the floor in my living room. I'm 25 now and so was going to school during that time, so maybe that's why it feels like that. Time feels so, so much longer until you graduate. 5 years feels more like 15. That said, I really could not bother with Korra the whole way through. I loved the original, but there was too much that I just really didn't like about the sequel; without me writing an essay about it. I did like some aspects about it, but I understand why people don't like it in general.
