That version is better than the previous with motorized tender, the motor located in the locomotive has better performance and durability.

This was made by Mehano for Tyco / in the end of Tyco trains / Mehano made Tyco’s locomotives till end of production In 1993. IHC then acquired the structure kits and molds of freight cars. This Version of Tyco was crappy to me as I bought this same set new from Toys R Us back in 93- the trucks and wheel sets were grossly oversized in the Final Tyco sets offered and engines varied from Tyco illustrations on boxes

This locomotive and rolling stock was manufactured in Yugoslavia, which was a BIG step up in quality compared to the crappy Power Torque bogie drives used in the tender of previous Chattanooga sets. Yes, it's still a starter train set, but the one I had always ran well.

Tyco trains may be low-end but that doesn't mean they are bad. For the price, their rolling stock, track, and accessories were half-decent - not top of the line, but fine for what they were. And even their locomotives with the Power Torque drives - while they had a bad reputation, I believe that was more due to people not knowing how to take care of them. I've heard they can last a long time with proper maintenance. The Power Torque drive was introduced in 1975 - before that, they had a different drive called the MU-2 drive that would last almost forever! And then there were these much later ones made by Mehano - as shown in this video - which had the same drives as AHM/IHC/Model Power lcoomotives.

I feel that this steam locomotive should've been a 2-8-2 because the 0-8-0 makes it look awkward like it's missing a front and back trailing wheel

I'm pretty sure 0-8-0 steamers did exist in real life, but but I do agree it looks rather incomplete.

I have this set. Got it for Christmas one year when I was little. I still have it along with some more cars and some more engines. I still have the track but I don’t use it anymore. I have better track that I use. The engine is still in good shape but the front plastic piece that rides along the track is slightly broke off. The plastic over the headlight might be broke off too but the headlight still works. I lost the horn thing. I’m not sure if I still have the bridge but if I do, I can’t use it since since it’s not compatible with my new track. I have 3 or 4 diesel engines I use now. Sadly, I have to get all new cars if I want to use my newest engine because it has the newer connectors on it and all my cars have the older connectors like in this video.

@@oldgamecafe Tyco did make a set called the clementine that did use the same locomotive from the Chattanooga choo choo set witch were both made in the same time period but you could also get the locomotive in a few other paint schemes

Es para hacer sonar el silbato, lo que sucede es que tiene un plástico que empuja un botón que hay dentro, al parecer el plástico está deformado y quedó atascado, pero correctamente funcionando debería tocar el silbato cada vez que se presiona el botón . El letrero Maxwell es para disfrazar el aparato para que se vea como un cartel publicitario de la época.
