plastic nippers? what are they? i just simply trim down the wrist pegs with a pair of wire strippers

Damian do what i do if the original wrist pegs are still there , just pull the new 40th ( modlers loft ) from its pegs and place them onto the action mans original pegs a drop of superglue into each new hand does the job .

Stuart Naisbitt I do the exact same thing but as the original pegs are slightly different, thicker, I nip them into shape to get a better fit. thanks for watching 😃

You can just pop them out of the socket, they should come away reasonably easy. There really is no other way of removing them.

Personally I'd switch out the old brittle hands, I like my figures to be able to hold their weapons, but its up to the individual what they choose to do. Its entirely your call, its your collection after all.

I can't remember but ether 10 or 12mm are both perfect for the job.

The rubber hands are past their usefulness, personally I'd change them. They do stand the test of time, most original hands have perished after 40-50 years. If you choose to change them now they'll probably last the rest of your life. but nothing lasts forever.

@@damianjones7554 just received my sas key action man ..he has a tear in the bullet proof jacket from neck area...have u ever fixed this ? If so what's the best way ...its also got quite loose legs ..can they be tightened up from that vaman? Seen people saying he does restoration..or is that something u do for people ..sorry for the questions..but ur obviously a massive action man fan and I hope u don't mind mate 👍

To my knowledge I don't think they make replacement hands for the modern figure. The only replacements for the originals come from the 40th anniversary collections and it's just lucky they are readily available on the Internet. What I would suggest is finding another donor figure and taking the hands from that to complete your repair.

There's two types: the early ones with slimmer metal pegs, and the later ones with the plastic pegs. Dunk the arms in a mug of hot water for a minute, and the plastic pegs will come out easy - a tug on the hands usually does it, if not wrap some cloth around the wrist and pull them out with a pair of jeweller's pliers. The metal ones are a lot more work and don't always come out in one piece - they're set in a hard plastic tube in the arm, and the hot water doesn't do much to soften the tube. The ones with the plastic pegs have a soft plastic tube surround and hot water does the job quickly.
