I put the spokes and sails back on the gearbox and restores the distinctive Aermotor tail vane logo. It's starting to look like a windmill again!

Love the vid . I have been working on one of these for a bit . I dont know if anyone knows this trick or not so here it goes . For square nuts or bolts you can use a larger size 12 point socket to loosen or tighten them .

The fan is a work of art, good job with the restoration. Red is the worst color for fading but it's original and looks sharp.

Nice job Jim !!! The lettering looks great, as good as new. The graphic was made to look good 35ft in the air & a quarter mile away, this really fits the bill.

I have an old vintage windmill Probably from the thirties or forties. When they put the main shaft back in they rigged it with cotter pins. Just need to know what kind of keyways to use in the shaft? Maybe a variety pack. Is it just a round basic keyway? Thank you.

There is a good trick that you can use to keep track to make sure that you tighten all of the fasteners when assembling something like the turbine. Get a little bottle of model builders' paint and put a little touch on the fastener when you tighten it up. When you think that you're all finished, it makes it easier to do one final inspection to make sure that you tightened all the fasteners.

I have not heard you mention the stenciled name on the vane. Mine in Hamilton Texas has a name and city stenciled on it also . I Ilooked up the name and there was a local newspaper article in the 1930's listing the man as a tin smith who sold windmills and washing machines. Incedentally his phone number here wa 400.

+FISHBREATHH Well, It's not my immediate family, as far as I know my Dad and I are the only two Jim Bollingers I know of, But I have heard that there are several Bollinger's that weld around the country. Maybe it's my long lost twin....

I've got two girls and I can tell ya that boys are easier to raise. Just scrub off the dirt, fill em with food, make them say please and thank you, and make sure they do their homework. They grow up and get tired of doing things your way and start looking after themselves. It's also a good idea to remind them, once in a while, that girls aren't play things and will bring trouble if they're not careful. You're a lucky man...I'm sure that you know that.
