I just completed one of your tutorials, the oldest written pattern, a French bag that you embellished with a tassel and a web a the top for a ribbon. And now I cannot find the tutorial. I've looked through your YT page and tried many word combination searches. Do you know the name of that video?

I have a 4.25mm G hook that was my mother’s favorite hook for baby yarn. She crocheted from 1938, and was still using this hook in 2015. I remember her using this hook in 1977.

To start the second loop row more easily: work the last loop from first row as (chain 2, work 1 DC into false stitch. This puts you at the top of the loop, so you don't have the awkward jump over to begin round 2. 😊

I first thought this was a photo from that old TV show "The Munsters" or maybe the original movie "The Adams Family"! I have been going through boxes from my late mother's estate the past couple of weeks, and today opened a few full of generation's-worth of old tatted and crocheted items. Everything from gloves and collars to afghans and doilies. I've got full tablecloths and edgings both on and off tea towels and guest towels. Lots of smocked, embroidered, and cross-stitched gingham aprons too, many with crocheted edgings. I've even got an entire cedar chest full of sweaters and sweater dresses my mom made and wore (pity she was such a tiny elven thing and I'm built like a Valkyrie.) mixed in with some scarves and hats. It's such a treasure to have these things, but also such a burden. What am I to do with it all!? No one else in the family is interested in it. It's a bit like being held hostage. Maybe you'd like to have a few of these vintage tidbits? Some of them look like the things you show from the old crochet pattern books. Should I share some with you?

You really should be using the double of size 10 Cotten thread in order to get the softness that this piece needs. This baby yarn is to stiff even with the larger hook. The thread yarn also gives it an elegance. Maybe next go round!😄

I know it would defeate the purpose of the vintage look, but do you think it would be possible to line this with a sheer layer of fabric? Kind of a cross between vintage and modern? I am no friend to a sewing machine😅 So I am not sure if it would even be possible. But I have a sister in law who sews quite well, but I am just not sure how one would go about lining it, because of the gathering of the hood.
