I used a vintage 6mm steel hook ( 1.90mm)
and #10 crochet cotton thread
if you want to make one I would suggest making the skirt portion in just white and then tieing it to the waist of the doll under the dress, I have included instructions for this in the pattern

Bless your son for being the unsung hero of your videos, I hope he knows how much he means to all us mystery crochet addicts! Excited for the vintage bowl to make its appearance (I don't get out much 🤣 ) P.S; I'm only on that 'packing' row, but it's making me think of the toilet roll cover my grandma had; like a doll with a crinoline type dress? Anyone else remember those?

I think if you just scale up the yarn, add more of the repeats the pattern has throughout, plus adding more rows of each of the repeat, you should be able to recreate this! It will probably take some math and working it to your size, but I think it’s very doable! Obviously, I don’t think it’d look the exact same when done like this due to it having different proportions of the stitch size when translated, but I think it’d be fun nonetheless! Though, seeing a bigger version of this exact look would be pretty amazing!

@@AllezVous222 If you use a well fited tshirt to fit the bodes, the rest will come almost by itself. It is a very easy pattern. You got this! I think we starded the skirt with an uneven number (total of 15 rows). If you do 2 or 3 loop border you have someting to ty the bodes in the back. For Human size ribon I would go a bit bigger with the netting row and use sewing material (its washable). Have fun!
@cherifew3485
@cherifew3485 13 күн бұрын
@@AllezVous222all I can say is make it scaled to Barbie measure, then measure self. Count how many stitches by inch are in the Barbie swatch and use your measurement to multiply the stitches by scale to your size. also measure the size of each row then measure your length. Since this a Barbie outfit measure each section of your body like the bodice area measure the bodice in the pattern and measure your bodice then figure out how many rows you need for your measurements measure for waist area & your waist measurement so on and so forth!

Pretty sure my grandmother made this exact dress for a doll once upon a time! I remember seeing old dolls with handmade dresses like this in a box as a kid. I have all of her old leftover thread and hooks (or did; I gave some of the hooks away since they were duplicates). Thanks for this fun reminder of her!

I LOVE it! After the ruffle started I remembered the little dolls that used to sit on toilet tanks in the “old days.” When I was a kid my grandma had one. It was a little 8-9” craft doll. She wore a crocheted dress and the legs of the doll were inserted in the middle of the roll to hide a spare while creating a full antebellum style dress. It is so cute on Barbie. How crazy that it’s so trendy all of a sudden! What goes around comes around! This was a thing way before Barbie came around. Anyway, keep up the good work! I’m Jan. Darlene is my mom and we watch you on her channel on TV.

@@craftypat you comment just made me think that my mom had one of those ones that my grandmother kept on the bed at her house I had forgotten all about now I must sift through everything to find it since my grandmother refused to let my mom have it when she got married and she didn’t get it back until my grandmother passed away in 2011 and of course I have it somewhere now since my mom passed away in 2017. I remember as a kid my grandmother would not let anyone touch it even my mom if you even went anywhere near it she would yell at you “GET AWAY FROM THERE” I can still hear her yelling now thank you for the great memories of my mom and grandmother.

When making doll clothes *that button or snap* to close, one must account for the overlap required at the closing. I say this after many years of experience creating such patterns. This is so pretty it could elevate a Dollar Store off-brand "Barbie". I can see this basic pattern used for special baby clothes too, like a bonnet and christening gown. Or adapted for a shawl or blanket? I really get excited when I see a new mystery pattern video is on offer. I like to save them for watching during "me time". Much love! "Beading" is a term often used in lace-making for an open mesh or grid that is made to allow ribbon or cord to be woven throught the lace.

I used to have a doll something like the one in the pattern's photo, except mine was from the 1930's and was supposed to be Sonja Henie, the famous figure skater from that era. It was something I found while exploring in my great aunt's house, back in the 1970's, and she let me keep it. Unfortunately, I no longer have that doll, but the pattern photo triggered such fond childhood memories and really put a smile on my face. :)

Technically Barbie hit the stores in 1959, so this is different doll. I remember I had a doll like the one in the picture and got my first Barbie in 1960. But I do remember making clothes for her because she only came with a bathing suit. You could by official clothing and matching shoes for her but she was kinda expensive and so were the clothing. I saved up to buy another Barbie, her best friend Midge and she cost me $3.99 plus tax about 3 years later. lol 😂
