12 жыл бұрынOur car tester Christoph Bauer takes a trip back in time with a real automotive milestone from the 1960s: the Honda S800. Its elegant contours are reminiscent of classic British roadsters like the Triumph TR 4 or MG B. But the ride factor in this baby is more medieval than modern, thanks in particular to the solid axle at the back.That said: even by today's standards, a ride in the Honda S800 really is something special. No other car could coax so much power and fun out of a 0.8-liter capacity.

Saw one in Okinawa in 1967 on my way to Vietnam. As I recall, Nemet Auto International would deliver one gassed and oiled to my door in California for about $2,000. I wrote to Honda, but they recommended (to their credit) that I not buy one as I would be a "stand alone" with no parts or service. Cool car. The S600 was chain drive, but the S800 had a driveshaft.

i own the coupe and the convertible and i love this little cars, the convertible is smaller than the coupe and i can drive it, only with the open roof

i have driven it... im 6'3 but still have driven MGB and such.. honda is a great little car.

I had an '82 Honda Prelude. Brand new. I should have kept that one, too ! Fiat now has a popular economy car ..

I only ever saw one or two in Australia, the one I really remember was a red coupe just like this one. It lived In my hometown when I was a kid in the late 1960's and I always thought of it as a kid's size GT40.
