Vintage V100 set up P2

Due to memory space issues I'm struggling to output set up videos in one complete part at the moment, so the last two videos have been in two parts.
Here I'm setting up Kevin's Vintage V100 'Paradise' - giving it a new custom adjustable Tusq nut and a precision fret level. The guitar was in pretty good shape before I started and played surprisingly well. This set up became more about fine-tuning the already low action and utilising the new nut to ensure great tuning stability.

Great job .... another guitar saved by "little Pleker Sam and his banana", a Vintage V100 is on my wish list !

Human plekers have more soul and mojo as well. Also can highly recommend a V100 as have three at present, Very little modding or upgrades needed if any 👍

Thought I'd left a comment the other day after watching this Sam? But hey ho, KZfaq has its quirks. Lovely job anyway as always and looking forward to the Fender EOB Srat coming soon (with the dreaded neck pocket truss adjustment ugh). For me and the guitars I've worked on, your banana method is perfect and sorts out the buzzes, chokes and slaps nicely, without flattening the frets massively. Yes, I admit to the occasional spot levelling when it is clearly one bothersome fret, but when not in a rush, I will do the full job and take all the time needed to get a great playing guitar for myself or for a friend or occasional customer. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke... then it's probably a Fender 😂

Yep.. the Banana method works pretty well after 8 years and counting. Did the EOB last night; a full set of hills and valleys found like any (less premium) guitar you can think of. Video just up this morning.

Really useful stuff! Quick question, where did you get the replacement bridge and tailpiece? I bought a standard LP tailpiece (Epiphone/Gibson) for my V100, and it was marginally too wide to fit.

The 'import' ones are right for these 'Far East' made LP copies - I buy this roller bridge from Northwest guitars northwestguitars.co.uk/products/roller-saddle-nashville-bridge-for-epiphone-les-paul-sg-es-dot?variant=44427274322194&currency=GBP&gclid=CjwKCAjwivemBhBhEiwAJxNWNwfwhLOIiUNTEAa4lW3kQ_JlTKO5RJY8on7FPJaETejBqqYnc-jJwBoCIJ8QAvD_BwE Out of stock at present but that's the kind you want. I know that Vanson guitars (eBay and Reverb) sells a similar one - just slightly taller in the body IIRC. The 'stop bar' would have been a regular one from same suppliers (also for standard metric Far East manufactured guitars)
