@@jiannicheng what I have learned from the car community is if someone makes a joke about your car (in this case instrument) just make a joke right back at them (again in this case about their instrument), removes any stigma that could be left in my experience as it just lightens the mood up in general. A joke only hurts if you act like its serious.

leg elbow the viola sounds a bit weird at times because the instrument is too small for the strings so it sounds weird, and god forbid they make a viola that’s actually the correct size for its strings because then it won’t be able to be played like a VIOLIN same with double bass but they can’t really make it any big because it already has to be taller then the player to be played properly also a viola can sound really good if it’s a great viola

Definitely search up some good tutorials and don’t build bad habits, cuz then they’ll be rly hard to fix. A few rly common bad habits I see are 1. Palm touching the violin (every once in a while you should check on yourself when playing that your palm is not touching the violin, it should be relaxed and upright, it will help with shifting, intonation and is going to look way better) 2. Pinky straight on the bow (practice maintaining the proper bow hold with the pinky relaxed and curved whilst rotating the bow back and forth. Hold the bow and move the tip left and right and try your best to keep the proper bow hold) 3. Thumb touching G string or too far up the neck (keep your thumb off the top of the fingerboard. It should not pass the top of the fingerboard at all. It should be curved and should be holding up the violin a bit between the thumb and index finger.)4. Crooked bow (make sure to make most of the bows movement up to the wrist more than the elbow and shoulder. The wrist should bend up and down naturally once you get the hang of it. Practice open strings and perfect the wrist movement) 5. Violin too low/bad posture (you want your back straight, eyes up to the front and violin parallel to the ground. You should move your stand up when playing to help with this) Keep practicing, you got this!
