The Viomi SE has been given a smaller battery and less strong motor than the flagship V3, but it does have quite a lot of similarities with it as well. The Y-mopping 2.0, the same model dustbox/watertank and even the same sensors and chips have been used on the SE. This makes it quite a competitive vacuum robot.
The price is a big factor here. It's launched for 299 USD, which is a temporary deal price which makes this a very interesting vacuum robot to look at. Sure, when comparing it to the flagship model it does not have such a strong motor but it's still very capable and does a good job at its highest setting. The battery is also a bit smaller but it can still go for 80 - 120 minutes on a single charge AND if it runs out of battery during a program it will go back to the dock to charge and will continue the program where it left off once its charged. So the smaller battery capacity does not necessarily have to be a big problem either.
Another thing that makes the SE more of a budget model is the fact that it does not include the single dust bin and the single watertank, but only comes with the combination unit. However, if you would like to have a single (bigger) dustbox you could actually get those separately. So again it doesn't have to a big problem.
I have been trying the Viomi SE for about a month, and I am actually surprised at how good the suction strength is, and it's done a great job for me. Even though I have a housekeeper that comes every week, it was pretty crazy to see how much dust and cat hairs it managed to pick up from under the sofa. This showed me that, for regular day-to-day vacuum cleaning and mopping, the Viomi SE is probably good enough for most of us, and even though it's a budget model, it surely did not disappoint me.
