Virtual DJ 8- How To Use Loops and Create Hot Loops

By Special request, I made a video on the loop function. Loops are one of the basic fundamentals that a DJ can use to enhance their mixes and transitions. In this video, I demonstrate the four most common ways I use the loop function as well as how to set a HOT LOOP in VDJ 8.
1. The Loop "Talk Over"
2. Adding energy to a mix
3. Continuing a beat over an acapella/maintain the energy
5. Transition mixes when two songs have different BPM
As always there are MANY ways to mix tracks and creative and advanced this. This video is designed for the DJ who's starting out and wants to tighten up their mixes. Thanks for watching. Be sure to comment, like and share!

That tempo rise was flawless. To go from 98bpm to 125bpm, for example, is not hard in itself. It's making it sound hot, snatching the listener up and taking them to the top of the rollercoaster. Very nice

Hi DJ Rachel . I'M stuck Here i. I want , when song reaches at set cue loop point it should start automatically in loop mode for given set beats, without touching or pressing any cue button on my Gear. please help , thanks in advance. forgot to add , i was searching the same on google and found your this video today 🥇

Jaspal Singh you can set these up in the POI editor. You need to set a “Saved Loop”. This sets the track position as a Saved Loop. The Saved Loop will be enabled using the HotCue buttons of the VirtualDJ Interface.

UGH!!!!! In VDJ 2021, when I hit "loop" I have to hold the loop button. This didn't happen in all earlier versions. What the hell am I missing. I know it's probably a simple setting, but I can't find it. (driving me crazy)

If you don't won't that loop transferring to other point, go to settings and turn off "loopAutoMove"

So... On the Jay Z - Snoop example, how did you do that without affecting the key? I find myself attempting that, but then the key gets all distorted.. :-(

Kieschnick-Rivas Family To be able to change the speed/tempo of the song without it audibly affecting the pitch (So that it sounds like Mickey Mouse or Barry White), you will need to enable key lock. VirtualDJ uses Master Tempo (also known as Keylock) to keep the songs key when making tempo/pitch changes. This is to maintain the song's integrity and avoid high and low pitched alterations of the tracks key and vocals. Master Tempo is on by default. If you find that the key of the song is changing when making tempo alterations, you may have disabled Master Tempo accidentally. To fix this go to the Deck Options button beside the transport controls on either deck, click on it and make sure Master Tempo is checked.

@@DJRachelLynch Thanks! I see the Key Lock all the time, but never knew how it works on a track. Will give this a try..
