Yes, but Wesley should've anticipated that this attacking sequence would come. Anand played the attack very well, with good sacrifices. It was Wesley who messed up the position of his pieces and that made his king more vulnerable to that attack. Chess is purely skill based at the end of the day, not luck based.

He is, of course, talking about stronger moves than Qe7 that continue the game like 2...Ne7 and 2...Re7 (2...Kf7 3. Ng5 Kg7 looks like another mate) where you play 3. Bxh7 and it's winning by material but the latent threat is also to go 4 Rg8 Kf7 5 Ng5 Kg7 6 Qh6 mate.

After Qd6+ Qe7, White continues with Qh6+. Black response is limited. Qg7 blocking the check will be met with Qxg7#. Instead Kf7 will be checkmate in two with Rg7+ Kf8 Qh8#.

It was a queen sacrifice, if the rook took queen, vishy would've advanced the pawn to g7 and gave a check. Later he would promote to queen and checkmate

If he takes with the rook. Then it will be checkmate in 2 moves
