China's Hui mosques used to be in China traditional style. Only about 20 years ago, Arabian countries began to send money to China's Muslim communitas and built those Arabian style mosques.

In all university cafeterias in China, there are dedicated areas for preparing halal food for Hui students

There are about 30 million Muslims in China. About 11 million of them are Hui Muslim people. There is a saying that Hui people moved to Yunnan in Ming Dynasty. There were several very important generals were Hui. Ming Emperor deployed some Hui generals with many Hui soldiers to Yunnan. They settled down and formed Hui communities there. Many Han soldiers too. Those Han people keep the old Han culture and tradition due to geographical isolation, and now are very different from current mainstream Han culture. They are identified as minorities too.
