I purchased the A3500 in black stainless to replace my black 5200. I chose that color so that my wife wouldn't notice, but it's not really black. Nonetheless, it's been three months and she hasn't said anything, but it is such a beautiful machine that I'm sure she has noticed (lol), especially since we have so many new accessories. I purchased the scale, 32oz wet container, Aer container, 8oz cup kit, 20oz cups, angled blade scraper, and red silicon scraper. All I can say is that I have an amazing wife! I didn't realize the black stainless I chose was a limited edition color, now I'm even happier with my decision. Thanks for the hard work you put into making awesome videos!

I just bought myself a gold a3500 lol because why not? Perfect for me. After 2 years of deciding, and waiting for Christmas sales, I figured I deserve a GOLD damn Vitamix with all the bells and whistles. Hah. Its my first Vitamix. I just got it on my doorstep so it’s still in the box. I’ve been using a Cuisinart $20 from target years ago. I’m thinking about getting the attachments for my new vitamix. Do you like your food processing attachments?

I like how Vitamix took the personal cup concept which was first used with the Nutribullet, and then made it their own by bringing the level of quality and attention to detail above all the competitors. Examples of this include the double wall, better (and safer) blade design, and more.

Consider using Stevia drops, which come in flavors too including plain, vanilla, chocolate, and butterscotch, or you can buy powdered stevia and add plain cocoa or carob powder or solid chocolate bar so you don't have to deal with sweetened syrups (often using corn syrup). I use Stevia for flavoring my yogurt and coffee, sometimes certain teas.

Love this a3500, and I just got the aer,and other accessories for this, 8oz, and 20oz, plus food processor, hopefully vitamix will add measurements on the 20oz ,I thought about marking mine with a oil based ink marker.

That's not correct though. The Ascent cups (20oz and 8oz) have a wireless technologies self-detect strip molded inside the plastic base which screws onto the blades. That strip speaks to the blades that also have that strip built-in. Together they speak to the Ascent blender. The blender will only activate using the Ascent cups with the self-detect technology built-in. The standard 20oz cup won't activate the blender.

I ended up getting JUST the 8 ounce bowls (not the starter kit) from my employer's wellness program. Turns out that it was shipped and fulfilled from Best buy, so you can get just those cups from them for $30.

Henry, Vitamix will sell either size containers separate from the blade; in other words, you only need to purchase a single kit consisting of a blade and either size container set. As an example, I purchased a blade and two 8oz containers as a kit and then two 20 oz containers separately. I ordered over the phone directly from Vitamix just a month ago. They were happy to accommodate me.

Hi Henry, I have had to utilize the warranty of my 20 container for my Ascent 3500. One of the magnets in the cup itself was broken in half, and I wasn't sure how it happened or if it would effect anything. So I contacted Vitamix, and they informed me that they didn't recommend continued use of it, and replaced it after I sent them proof of purchase via email. :) Just an FYI about how easy and professional Vitamix is about replacing faulty products

Thanks to your videos I ended up purchasing a Vitamix A3500 and a separate clear 48oz wet container. I want to get either the 8oz bowl or the 20 oz cup. Can I grind spices, mill flour and make baby food using the 20 oz cup? My primary motive is to make smoothies hence I'm leaning towards the 20 oz cup. I want to avoid spending more money if I can end up doing the same blends that the 8oz bowl does using the 20 oz cup. Thanks!

My favorite one so far is a salad dressing I adapted from a blue apron recipe. For 4 servings it is 4 tbs creme fraiche, 2 tbs dijon mustard, and 6 tbs of verjus rouge. This is a pain to mix by hand, but it works great in the 8 ounce cup. Then I just use the smoothie cup lid on the bowl, which looks goofy but works fantastic for dispensing salad dressing.

I recently purchased my first Vitamix 7500 from QVC included was the 32oz. Dry container. It was a great price in my opinion. I am thinking about purchasing the personal cups & I would also like to get the 8oz bowls. Are these available for the 7500 & which ones can work on this model?

This looks similar to the Vitamix Venture, but the Venture comes with 1 20oz container as well as 1 28oz container and of course the full size 68ox jug... I do not own a vitamix yet, but am planning to in the next couple months. Waiting on a good sale. I have to decide wich one would fit my needs the best. Not found the perfect combo yet... I am interested in seeing how well the 20pz container would perform to make a small batch of nut butter (almond butter?). Would love a demo on that, would help me decide on a blender. thanks

I have a Vitamix Pro 750 it really is incredible. Big moan on Vitamix though, they purchased the Blend App off the Perfect Company In January and they requested that wired scales be disabled in the Blend App. My wired scales work great with the bake, drink apps but not with the blend. Bad move Vitamix!

I would love to see you use some frozen ingredients in the 8 oz bowl without adding much liquid. The only reason the Ascent series would win me over from the traditional taller container legacy machines is the ability to make small batches of ice cream. I would love to know how smooth a frozen banana would blend by itself, with some ice, or just a splash of liquid.

Markings marking marking, why has Vitamix not heard our voices on this. You said the Vitamix DOES NOT detect weather it is the 8oz or 20oz and you are correct however, if you use the Vitamix Pro scale and app you can actually tell the Vitamix via the app which jar you are using. It seems.like they are wet containers but are they better for grinding oatmeal or making but butters than the large 64oz container?

The 20oz container is not used for making nut butters or grinding grains. Because the 8oz bowl is small and the entire housing is so close to the blades it can be used for multi-purpose, but at the end of the day the blade type in these containers is wet. The dry container uses a specialize blade for dry ingredient grinding.

you're not kidding about that personal cup being tight. I was looking at an S30 in a shop and I couldn't unscrew the lid at all, which would make adding ingredients somewhat tricky

I have the Vitamix 5200 and I bought the 20ox and 8ox cup and bowl. Why is it that they have that big plastic bowl around the blades and not like the ones made for the E3200? I am not sure if I want to keep them or send them back to Amazon. Very weird design. Any thoughts on this?

Hey Henry. Of course I would love to get both of these but not going to happen right away on my budget lol! In general would say the the 20oz is still capable of doing much of what the bowls can do? Or is the design such that it won't do a good job on smaller amounts like salsa etc?

Hey Keith! "Overall" I would say you could use the 20oz cup for some tasks that the 8oz bowl could do. Inside the 8oz bowl the wall is raised in triangular shape (like a speed bump) to help process ingredients such as milling spices, which is best to use the 8oz bowl for. The 20oz cup has a wall that is raised (like a speed bump) in a rounded shape, which is perhaps best suited for processing liquids better.

The Venturist and all Ascent models detect the cups the same way. Display graphics vary between machines but they all detect the same way.

The 8oz bowls are compatible only with the new Ascent line of Vitamix machines. It's more than simply a fitting of the blades. The 8oz bowl uses wireless technology to speak to the Ascent machines so the proper speeds are used in order to protect the bowl from being damaged while blending.

Anyone else having fun trying to get the ''smart" system to recognize the bowl and cup on the vitamix? I know the arrows have to be lined up for it to recognize it and that this is a safety feature but it's so safe that I can't use it lol Fiddling around with the cups to screw them in place is a bit irritating. This could have been designed more intuitively... Anyone else encounter this? Thanks Henry for your great videos!

I tried making hummus in the 8 oz but it didn’t blend properly, it kept collecting under the blades. I ended putting it in the reg container and it finished the job. Maybe it was too thick? 🤷🏻‍♀️

Oh I see. Yes there's an arrow on the blade base and a marking on the container indicating how firm to connect them together. If it's too firm the blade will not activate.

@@BlendingWithHenry I'm just going to be ignorant and say why does a 5200 need Bluetooth? Do you not just put it on the base and flick the switch? I know the ascent needs to "detect" it....

I just got a Vitamix 7500 as a gift. N wish I could buy a smaller container to mix small portions. Can you help me find it? Thank You.

The small 8oz cup in the video is not compatible with the 7500. There are no current cups this size that will fit it.

It has become increasingly obvious to me that we share a brain as "The Quality Glassware Twins." Duralex aside, I bought these 8-oz. bowls "just because" but am finding them EXTREMELY useful for chopping stuff that doesn't need a fancy, uniform chop, i.e. veggies that will be sautéd prior to blending. So easy to empty contents--these ROCK. And even though that salsa's not my cup of tea, you did a fantastic job with the presentation. Very professional looking!

Is there any plans to make a bowl adaptor for the 7500 and other legacy machines?

So far it doesn't look to be the case. Vitamix is focusing on the Ascent machines moving forward.

@@BlendingWithHenry figures. I dislike the akward personal cup adaptor also. Wish they would come up with something like they have for the E series machines. Small and simple.

Designed only for the Ascent and Venturist line of Vitamix machines.

Cold for approx 2-4 hours. Frozen for 1-2 hours depending on the ambient climate.

The 8oz bowl is only compatible with the Vitamix Ascent and Venturist V1200 machines.

Hi Henry is the 20 ounce blades the same as the 8 oz blade can I buy the 20 oz kit and just buy 2/8 Oz containers will it work on the 20 oz blade that's my question

Electronics in the Vitamix just means more chances of something failing. That’s why I liked the Vitamix in the first place. The simplicity of it. I much prefer a simple on and off switch.

So I was thinking other than baby food, not a whole lot of uses for the 8oz., then I thought, pesto! Would be a great size to make a small amount of fresh pesto without having to do all the scrapping of a larger container.

Absolutely! Sauces, dips, spreads.....and don't forget that the 8oz cup is perfect for milling spices (as shown in the video) as well as creating some great BBQ rubs and milling seasonings for sprinkling over homemade fries. Lots of uses.

The 8oz bowl is great for many small recipes but when it comes to hummus it requires liquid and it's very thick so a larger container would be better. I would say it's possible since Vitamix has made nut butters in it. I just haven't tried hummus.
