My idol. I met him in 1983 at wankhede stadium when the team was doing their workouts. Late Umpire Mamsa my guru for cricket umpiring took us to meet him.

Sir Viv Richards was not only the BEST batsman but he was different. Great batsman like Gavaskar, Miandad, Chappel, Gooch and even new generation Tendulkar and Lara all go out to fight and accumulate runs. Viv went in to dismiss bowlers from his presence! 😮

The best ever…I am not for stats, VIV is warrior like no other …and tremendous courage ….my favourite player of all,time very lucky to have seen him play….I o loved the fact that he used politics to motivate his performance. I loved that. Wish Pakistan had players like him. We had Imran and he is in jail,for for fighting against US. Riaz Pakistan supporter.
