My father was Russian and Czech. His father left Russia during the revolution. I barely understood my Russian heritage until listening to Mr Pozner. I now have a need to gain a much clearer understanding of that heritage especially now that we could be facing war with Russia which in my estimation must clearly be prevented!

Mr. Pozner is one of a kind, well-rounded, intelligent and charismatic person. It is so refreshing to hear and understand him in both languages and he always say exact same thing, without twisting anything. He is true to himself and others, which is very important and rare. His own story is pretty amazing to me, which shaped him into who he is. No one, actually, can truly understand what other Country is about, unless you know it from within. Just to know the language in itself won't solve this issue. One need to live, observe, learn, analyze, understand, etc. in order to be free of bias. God is amazingly prepared him for this important role. He speaks to people on their own language without an accent, which makes it easier for them to digest the message. Yet, sadly, there are still those, who are still in a state of robotic and molded mentality. They are automatically dismissing the importance of the message due to his background (3 Citizenships for one). What a rich and fulfilling life to live! In fact, I wish, you would start preaching about God to this lost World! Maybe one day. :) God bless you! Всем всего самого-самого светлого!

If you are fortunate, you will have the experience of other ways of life and thinking and then to evolve and progress to new ways of life and thinking. There is no smell of stale predictability on this man. Only the rare gift of having seen the past and adding to the future.

I will call you VLAD, and I am telling you, you are a book of knowledge to me, very close to my liking of humans, kind of UNIVERSAL KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING OF LIFE.. I wish, I learnt Russian and Turkish at a level to understand them better, I was looking more to WEST, Europe and America, and I do believe that Anglo-Saxon America was the best ( with the help of the Europeans invaders until the 1900+ or mid Sixties)..when Kennedy was KILLED.. it was the END of the personal FREEDOM envisioned by the FATHERS of the Declaration of Independence and the U.S. CONSTITUTION and my new view based on the problems in world today

He is smart of course, but he never was talking such things about Putin in Russia, because his listeners, whose mostly liberal and prodemocratic will reject that. There are some incorrect relation that he provided, between how Putin came to autcratia and how western country was guilty about it

All his comments are food for thought, but look at China : every assistance given + lots of investment plus seat-at-the-table with WHO, Olympics etc yet still they push against India militarily and kick Vietnam off the Spratleys and now there is tension elsewhere in South East Asia. Its highly likely some kind of "Marshall Plan" in Russia would have same outcome as now with respect to the powerful classes taking all the benefits + aggressive Russian power projection, precisely because its driven by a geopolitical mechanism and not the actions of anyone else outside. Russia can't accept Ukraine being outside of it's influence. Its untenable because it completely ignores what Ukraine wants. This sadness about losing territory for Hawks in Russia would be true no matter how many Hershey kisses are sent from Brussels and Washington.

I suppose if I was an American living in Russia, (God forbid!), I would be saying the same things in defense of Rush Limbaugh. But, you seem sincere and persuasive. I will give a listen to Posner's more contemporary offerings. However, if he reminds me of the Posner of the Khrushchev and Kosygin regimes he's going into the cellar with the Czar and his family as respects my opinion!

When you make a claim such as that, especially the notion of inception of a well-respected journalist that has worked as a journalist for many decades then you need to demonstrate proof of your astonishing claim. What is his underlying goal if he has an agenda? From what he said all i could see is that he wants Americans and Russians to get along. Is that so bad? Is he trying to change the US, to make the US accept Russian ideology? No. So how can you make that claim. If you take a clearly biased journalist like CNNs Christine Amanpour or Wolf Blitzer then yes you can talk about inception and spreading subversive propaganda as they clearly have an anti-Russia agenda that they dont even hide. However, you cannot make the same assertion about Posner who does not criticise the US the same way as US mainstream media anchors/journalists ferociously and constantly attack Russia on a daily basis.
