@@dianevrules New Jack Swing is 100% Teddy. The Jam & Lewis thing was an evolution of the Minneapolis Sound. Similar, but not the same.

@@crnkmnky how did Teddy invent it when Keith had completed over 80 percent of the album before Teddy got involved? Don't stop your love and a few other songs where his demo songs. Gene Griffin muscled Keith and that's how Teddy's name got all those production credits.

It would be the same. "Don't Stop Your Love" was the first song Keith Sweat wrote, produced and recorded for the album. "I Want Her" was the second song he did

He said that Edwin Birdsong was the judge in the competition and told him that he could compete with a guardian’s consent. Birdsong did a song called “Cola Bottle Baby” that was sampled by Daft Punk for “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger”. Teddy has some interesting connections.

I remember Teddy saying in a interview that he only got paid $1500 for Make It Last Forever. If that's true me & Keith would have threw hands! 😂

Teddy didn't get the credit he deserves for making that album. Keith got the production credit. Teddy played all the instruments and did the producing. So what Teddy said in that interview was true. There were attempts to interview Keith about that and he declined them. So he took advantage of Teddy.

When I first heard "I Want Her" it blew me away. But. I've been hearing his work on the radio. I didn't know it was him at all. Johnny Kemp , Kool Moe Dee. Doug E. Fresh material. He was really doing it their in the mid-80's so young. Solid History.
